First Aid Course Set for January '7 . ,.The Advanced First-.- Aid Course to haveb een held prior to' Christmas has been postpon ed. On ly three appeared Saturday to 4tart the course. i Soroptimists Have Successful Dance Marlene Bergstrom, Turkey Hop chairman for the Soropti mists reported a clearance of more than $300 from the annu al dance at the business meet ing of the group on Dec. 3. Plans were finalized for the Pie Sale to be held on Friday; the White Elephant Sale for the Dec. 10 meeting at the Wagon Wheel; the Christmas party on Dec. 17. Members are to bring a gift to exchange. Indians to Visit Heppner Unit Heppner Home Extension Unit will meet at the home of Mrs. Norman Clow near the golf course on Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. The ACWW program will be on Indian Culture. Potluck lunch eon. Guests will be Mrs. Joy George, and one or two Indian women from the Umatilla In dian Reservation. Members are asked to bring gifts to send over to the EOSH and a gift for exchange. Mother's Club Meet Dec. 14 this Month ,The Mother's Club meeting previously dated for Dec. 7 has been re-scheduled for Dec. 14 at the home of Barbara James. The co-hostess will be Barbara Jess mer and all members are urged to attend. The evening will include an International - Potluck - Supper with each member bringing a foreign dish. , - . Starks announce the engage ment of their daughter, Linda Charlene, to Kenneth L. Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Jones of Lexington. No date for the wedding has been set. Shriners Take Food To Children's Hospital The Shriners aren't talking much about It but the annual Caravan which starts in Idaho takes literally tons of food to tne Shrine Hospital In Portland and It Is a big accomplishment As the caravan advances to 'rds Portland It picks up ad ditlonal trucks, pickups and ! station wagons. By the time they arrived in Portland this fall there were 86 pieces of equipment carrying a total val ue In food stuffs of $36,000. doing irom Heppner were John Wood,' Don Gilliam and Judge Paul Jones. Epis copal Women at their meeting Sunday following the Sunday morning worship services.. December 10, 1970 Guild Cookbook Has Reprint A cookbook, which was much in demand when It was first printed in 1953, Is again being offered to the women of the community. The women of St, Michael's Episcopal Church in Condon have had the GUILD cookbook reprinted. They have edited the original cookbook and have provided additional recipes bringing the total pages to more than 200, considerably more than the original cook book. Tho cookbook features a pot pourrl of recipes, Including sal ads, meat dishes, breads, des Legion Plans Christmas Party The American Legion and Auxiliary families and friends will enjoy the annual Christmas party Dec. 13 at 5:30 at the Leg ion Hall. There will be a pot luck snack table for all to en Joy during the evening. There will be a movie and treats, i-acii family Is asked to bring can ned goods for the Goodwill baskets. Because of a limited printing when the book was liiM pub llshed in 1953, many people In the community were unable to obtain a copy of the cookbook which made it a collector's Item. Many of those who were fortun ate enough to buy the book 17 years ago and now find their books in a dilapidated condition will welcome the opportunity to purchase another one. These cookbooks will be avail able for purchase at All Saints' Episcopal Church In Heppner, Immediately following morning worship services on Dec. 13, and Dec. 20.
