The Invo cation was by Rev. Nell King, pastor of the Boardman Church. The Riverside High School choir sang "Fear Not That You Walk Alone" and "This Is My Prayer." Rev. Herbert Vaughan, pastor of the Irrlgon Baptist Church, pre sented each senior with a Bible, gift from the combined church ea of Irrlgon and Boardman. Rev. John Kenney, pastor of the As sembly of God Church at Irrl gon, gave the benediction. The processional and recessional were played by Mrs. Albert Part low, organist, and Mrs. LaVcrn Partlow, pianist Members of the class Include The junior high band played "Windy", "Yesterday" and "Cranberry Corners", the latter with trumpet solo by Jerry Don ovan. The Junior high chorus sang 'This Guy's In Love With You", directed by Pam Kuhn, "Sunny", "Les Blcyclettes De Belslze", "A Time For Us" from Romeo and Juliet. "Jenny My Lovely One", directed by Grant Walter, and "Aquarius (irom "Hair"). Following the program, re freshments were served In the school commons. Michele Wilkie gave the welcome and presented the fol- ess. Mrs. R, K. Lake, Jr., was elected vice-president,' Mrs. Roy Partlow, recording secretary; Mrs. Carroll Donovan, treasurer; Mrs. Stan Henklc, corresponding secretary. The Tilllcum Children's Li brary was selected as the name for the library the club Is spon soring for elementary pupils at the high school. The club will be In charge of the reception for the seniors fol lowing graduation May 22. Mrs. Ralph Skoubo is chairman. The club voted to sponsor a 4-H scholarship to summer school for a Boardman club club member. The next meeting will be at lowing program: Duet, "My Fav orite Things", Donna Pummel the home of Mrs. Ron Daniels and Diane Black; skit, Debbie May 26. McCoy, Myrna Wilkie, Marilyn Fourier, Linda Frederlckson, Debbie Abercrombie, Kathy Ry an, Susan Ball, Georgia Hinton, Diane Rash and Vickie Gayman. New GAA officers were intro duced: Debbie Walter, president; Kathy Ryan, vice-president; Pat ty Proctor, secretary; Debbie Mc Coy, treasurer; Georgia Hinton, sergeant-at-arms. Another skit was presented by Dodl Hilling; Debbie Hug and Carol Wiley. The girls held a fashion show with Diane Black as narrator. A tea hour followed. The girls introduced their mothers and guests. Michele Wilkie was general chairman; in charge of decora tions were Diane Black, Joni Til ler, Cathy Byerly, Donna Pum mel; fashion show, Vicky Hobbs, Judy Hinton; name tags, Mar ilyn Pourler, Kelli Snyder, Cher yl Hinkley and Vickie Gayman. Greenfield Grange met Satur day night at the hall, starting with potluck supper at 6:30. Mrs. Glen Carpenter was hostess. Guests were Cecil Jones, grange insurance agent, and Delpha Jones, district 6 chair man of the WAC of the grange, both of Lexington. Donald Baker was elected to the office of steward, and was installed by Nathan Thorpe, county deputy. Upon the resig nation of Martha Baker as jun ior grange matron, Virginia Phil lips was elected to replace her. Margaret Thorpe was elected as alternate delegate to the State Grange session to be held at Hood River the third week in June, and Nathan Thorpe was elected as grange insurance representative at the session. Wins Cotton' Sewing Contest Mrs. Jones announced that Margaret Thorpe had won first place in the Grange cotton sew ing contest in Morrow County, Her dress will be entered in the state contest. If a winner in .'that contest, it will be entered in the national contest. Mrs. W. G. Seehafer was ap pointed to serve on the audit ing committee to replace Arthur Allen. Mrs. Baker announced that she had the petition regarding iormmg a rural fire district and needed help to circulate it. She stated that if it isn't on the bal lot for the November election, it can't be voted on before 1972. There will be no potluck sup per during June, July and Aug ust. Grange will start at 7:30 p.m. , . Grange Meets A special meeting was held by Greenfield Grange to exemp lify the third and fourth degrees for Mr. and Mrs. Tom Harrison, Mrs. Larry Phillips and Jack McEntire, new members. Morton Wolverton, master of Columbia Grange at Hermlston, and Alex Jones, also of Columbia Grange, were present and assisted with he initiation. Grange met Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Glen Carpenter. Guests were Mrs. Rollin Bishop, Mrs. Steve Highley and Mrs. M. I, Overson. Mrs. Waller Hayes. Mrs. Larry Phillips. Mrs. W. G. Seehafer. Mrs. Donald Baker, Mrs. Tom Harrison, Mrs. Bernard Donovan and Mrs. Bill Bates were ap pointed to serve the dessert and coffee at the election May 26. Hostesses for the next meet ing June 10 will be Mrs. Bates and Mrs. Leonard Bedord. Horn Extension Meets The Home Extension Unit met Thursday for the last meeting until fall at the 4-H building, Subject was 'Financial planning for retirement." Leaders were Mrs. Donald Baker and Mrs. Mel Allyn. Mrs. Allyn stated that anyone not present wanting lit erature on the subject could ob tain them. They showed charts that told how to save percent ages of income for retirement and what they would have at the end of different terms of years. Menu Cafeteria menus for Riverside Junior-Senior High School for the week of May 25-29 are as follows: Monday wiener wraps, po tato chips, buttered peas and fruit. Tuesday ham, potatoes, toss ed salad, corn bread and pine apple upside down cake. Wednesday pizza, cottage cheese and fruit, buttered green beans and ice cream. Thursday spaghetti, pickled beets, homemade rolls and cher ry crunch. Friday fish sticks, buttered corn and sweet rolls. Milk is served with all meals, Commencement exercises will be held at Riverside High School May 22. School will be dismiss ed May 29 for summer vacation, The WAC of Greenfield Medic Alert- Wins P. R. Award Medic Alert, international foundation for persons with hid den medical problems, received a Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) at the 26th Sil ver Anvil Banquet held here to night in the ballroom of the Plaza Hotel. The awards are pre sented annually in recognition of outstanding professional pub lic relations achievement. The Medic Alert entry was sel ected by the 33 -member panel or judges as best in the promo tional publicity category for non profit organizations. Accepting the award for Medic Alert was its executive director, Alfred A. Hodder. Medic Alert, with headquart ers in Turlock, Calif., was the lone Western representative among the 22 winners. The foundation's public rela tions counseling firm, Carl Byoir & Associates, was the only ag ency to win more than one award. It received two Silver An vils one for the Medic Alert program, the other for Children's Television Workshop, producer of the network program "Sesame Street." The Medic Alert account is handled by Byoir's San Francisco office. Account executive is Rob ert H. Richelson, the agency's Western States manager, assist ed by Alice Nichoson, formerly of Morrow County. Her mother, Mrs. Edith Nichoson, resides in lone. Kinzua Square Dancers Host John Day Club KINZUA The Kinzua Moun taineers Square Dance group were hosts Saturday night in the First Grade room to the Swlngeroo Square Dance club of John Day. After an evening of dancing the group enjoyed a dinner. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dalrymple, Mr. and Mrs. John Llveira, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cochran, Mr. and Mrs, Bill Street, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Nalerugan, all of John Day; Mr. and Mrs. Dave Yager of Prairie City; Mr. and Mrs. Gib Galle of Condon; Mr. ara Mrs. Marvin Saddler, Mr. and Mrs. Verlin Conner, Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Murdock, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Perkins, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Sar gent, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Kan die, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Nor ris. Mr. and Mrs. William Robert son and family moved last Frl day to Bend where he will be employed and they will make their home. Dan and Sam Bell took their mother, Mrs. W. J. Bell, Sr. of Fossil to Portland Sunday where she will visit with Mr. Bell who Is receiving treatment at the Veterans Hospitla. She will also visit with Mr. and Mrs. Ken neth Robbing and Mr. and Mrs, W. J. Bell, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Conlee left Thursday for Salem to at tend the State Convention of the BPOE. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs Stanley Benson and with Mr. and Mrs. Verlin Conner over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs, Steve Benson of Albany. Mrs. Mike Todd and Gary and Mrs. Richard Thomas were in The Dalles last Monday for Mrs. Thomas to have medical care. New Family A new family to Camp 5 is Carlo and Judy Warming who have a boy Craig, 5, and a dau ghter, Jolene, who Is 8. They came to Kinzua from Brookings. Mr. Warming works on construc tion. They moved into the house formerly occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Red llulett. The Friendship club held their regular card session lust Wed nesday nltiht in the first grade room with Melba Mitchell as hostess. High was won by Clndl Weaser, second high by Rose Merry Nelson, and pinochles by Sharon Smiley and Roberta Con lee. Others playing were Dinah Jackson, Pat McMlnn, Suo Mat tison, Doris Stubblefield, Becky Wright, Deena Reld, and Carol Norris. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Eversole and family and Mr. and Mrs. Rich ard Kendall and family spent Sunday in Portland where they visited the Zoo and other at tractions. Visiting Tuesday and Wednes day with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wham were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Shana felt of San Clemente, Calif, Mr, and Mrs. R. C. Thorington of West Linn and Don Shanafelt of Hermlston.
