The program was presented by the third and fourth grades, under the direction of Mrs. Gladys Hobbs and Mrs. Mildred B&kcr. An educational film on LSD: "Insight or Insanity" was shown in the library for those who were Interested. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Joan Adams, Mrs. Sammy Griffin, Mrs. Chester Wilson. Kdg. Visitation North Morrow Kindergarten will have a visitation day for youngsters who will attend Kin dergarten next year, on Mon day, May 11. Mrs. Karen Adams is their teacher. This year's class will have a program on Friday, 15, when they will "graduate" from Kindergarten. Kindergarten mothers had a baked food, and rummage sale Saturday in Hermiston. Irrigon Newcomer A number of people have mov ed to Irrigon recently. Among them are Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Matlack, who have moved into the Al Partlow rental home. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Radenbaugh have returned to Irrigon and live south of town. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Whetstone and family and their daughter Mrs. Nancy Best have moved into apartments at the Hinson Didier rental units. Piano Recital On May 1, Elna Chamberlin presented her pupils in a piano recital at the Umatilla Presby terian Church. There were 51 piano pupils on the program, 6 of them were from Inigon. They were Jyl Hobbs, Erin Evans, Kathleen Evans, Debbie Groch owski, Pamela Schmeder, Sher- vl Pnrtlnw. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Stephens attended the recital to hear granddaughter Patricia Stephens of Umatilla. They were accom panied by Mrs. Roda Macidox. Pfc. Floyd Wiley spent 5 days at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sweeney and family. He has been stationed at Fort Eustis, Va. He left Irri gon May 4 to attend a school for MP training in Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Glenn Hoo ver attended a May Day School celebration in Arlington, where their son Ted Hoover is school superintendent and his wife is school librarian. The Hoovers enjoyed watching the parade. The school band played and a queen was crowned. There was a grade school track meet. . Dr. Reelected By Academy Wallace H. Wolff, M.D., Hepp ner has been re-elected to ac tive membership in the Amer ican Academy of General Prac tice, the national association of family doctors. Re-election signifies that the physician has successfully com pleted 150 hours of accredited postgraduate medical study in 1 he ' last three years. Members become eligible for re election at the end of the third year fol lowing their election to mem bership. EOC Honor List According to Dr. Lyle H. John son, dean of students, one hund red and sixty-six students were named to the dean's honor list for the winter quarter at East ern Oregon College. This honor is achieved by acquiring a grade point average of 3.5 or better. Forty-three of the group posted a perfect ave rage of 4.0. From Heppner with 4.0 ave rage included: Jean Marie Healy, senior, secondary busi ness. Hear U.S. Navy Band The 7th and 8th grade band went to The Dalles recently to hear the United States Navy Band. There was a fabulous har monica player. Director Arnie Hedman said the William Tell Overture was outstanding. The young musicians saw an Eng lish Post Horn played for the first time. Leonard Munkers drove the bus down. The band members had earned money for the concert from their magazine tales. - TIMES, TburadaT. Mot 7. Creeks Get Trout Plants The Oregon Game Commission last week liberated 3,000 Rain bow trout of about 9 to 10 inch es in length in Upper Rock Creek. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Rog er Campbell and Mrs. Boyce. an 8th grade chaperone from Port land. Paul Miller, field trip chair man said a trlD to Bishop's Rock shop at Wishram, Wn., is plan ned for May 10. Other trips have been enjoyed by the group. Pete McMurtry was a lucky winner In a door prize drawing at the Walla Walla show. The George Millers reported on shows and meetings coming. Mrs. Miller to attend the reg lonal meeting in Pendleton. Mr. Miller plans to attend the 30th annual N. W. Federation Con vention in September at Great Falfc, Mont. The Millers say there are 10,112 members In the Federation. Refreshments of cookies, cup cakes, punch and coffee were served by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Brown. Next meeting will be NUiy 23. Former Hehisch Editor To Graduate Former editor of the Hehisch, Jim Barclay, '66, will graduate from the University of Portland on Sunday, May 10. Jim, his wife, and daughter will then re turn to the Heppner area to farm.
