Miss Farrens was a fresh man at Oregon State Universi ty and died suddenly of a rare type of heart disease on Nov. 13. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Farrens of Oak Grove who formerly lived in Heppner and was employed by the Forest Service here about 20 years ago. Noble and will continue at the old stand. Smith, Secretary treasurer. Gov. Earl Snell will be guest speaker at the banquet Friday night. Mrs. Sadia Rigga, better known as Sadia Garrigues, for merly of Heppner, and sister of Mrs. Nina Snyder of Heppner, is making her home at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Hermlston and would be glad to see any of her old friends. Myers said his office has mailed an average of 65 state flags a month to Oregon serv icemen, principally in Vietnam, since early summer. "I urge interested citizens, veterans organizations, and ser vice clubs to make donations to the flag fund," Myers said. "Judging from the letters we receive, these flags apparently mean a great deal to our boys overseas, and I wouldn't like to. see the fund discontinued." Myers noted that a legislat ive appropriation for the flag fund, that was intended to cov er the biennium, has been one third expended since July 1.
