Organ Recital Sunday at lone The lone United Church of Christ announces the dedication and recital of the new Baldwin Organ recently purchased from Roth Music Center in The Dal les. The recital will be held on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 4:00 p.m. at the lone church. A reception will follow. Music of many styles will be performed by Darrell James. Mr. James, graduate of Whitworth College, Spokane, is teaching music in the lone schools. A "Baroque Suie for Organ" will also feature trumpet soloist James Jamleson. Mr. Jamieson, graduate of Eastern Oregon Col lege, is new this year to the Condon schools, where he teach es music. The public is invited to attend. Traveling to Richland, Wash on Sunday, Nov. 16, for a Sun day School leadership and plan ning meeting for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day baints was Flovd Borman. Irvin Mann mentioned the promiscuous living conditions at the dorms at the University of Oregon following his talk at Chamber Monday. The girls go down to the shower rooms and there could very well be a boy in there taking a shower! I know times had changed but not that much! He has two dau ghters attending the University. Methodist Youth Trovel To La Grande High school age United Meth odist youth will hold a Retreat at La Grande UMC on November 21-22. Registration begins at 7 p.m., November 21 and will close about 4 p.m. on the 22nd. Trans portation will be provided by the Heppner church. Contact Rev. Cutting for reservations. Substantiating evidence In the form of letters written by three (ONLY 3) adult individuals not related to the candidate must accompany the application. Awiml At the 1o1 level The Soroptlmlst Club of Heppner will award a $23.00 Savings Bond to the first place winner 510.00 to the second place winner, with Certificates being given to each participant entering the Awards Program. Seventeen $1,000 Awards will be awarded one to each winner within the 15 Regions and 2 Af filiated Areas of the Soroptlmlst Federation of the Americas, Inc. and a S1.500 FINALIST AWARD to one of the 17 winners, mak ing a total award of $2,500 to the finalist. Hostesses assisting Mrs. Martin were Mrs. Herb Peterson. Mrs. Euzcne Ducktor and Mrs. Darrell James. Mrs. McKay received many lovely and useful gifts. These home-baked goods are just in time for Thanksgiving guests. WHAT'S COOK IN? Here is another recipe from the Seven Wonders With Beef, Swiss Steak has always been a favorite at our house but I've never tried it with the noodles. Must try it soon. Swiss Steak Supreme 2 lbs. round steak Vi cup flour 1 tsp. salt 18 tsp. pepper 2 tbsp. salad oil 1 cup canned tomatoes 1 pkg. frozen peas 2 large onions sliced 1 pkg. (8 oz.) cooked noodles. Cut steak into portion-size pieces. Combine flour, salt and pepper. Pound flour mixture in to meat. Heat fat or oil in large skillet over low heat. Brown meat on both sides. Add toma toes, cover and cook for about 1 hour. Add peas. Place some of onion slices on top of meat, saving as a garnish enough for 1 or 2 slices per serving. Contin ue to cook, covered about hour longer or until meat and onions are fork tender. Serve on hot cooked noodles with re maining slices of onions on top of each portion of meat.
