Ttaurs- Novmir 13. 1969 Daniels Submits Class A Regional Plan To OSAA Board of Control The Oregon School Activities Association Board of Control at a special meeting November voted to submit a regional plan that was presented by Board member Ron Daniels, Morrow County School District Superln tendent to the class A schools. Following consideration by the Class A school administrators and suggestions by them the board will act on the proposal at its November 29 meeting in Corvallls. League realignments for Class Al and A 2 high schools in the state were formally adopted. A. Oden Hawes, OSAA execu tive secretary, said that the board approved the Classlficat Ion and Districting Committee's recomendatlons, and as a result, several changes were made In the original realignment of last May, In Class A l, which will be come Class AAA next school year, Central High school of Independence-Monmouth has been placed in District No. 4 as has Sweet Home High school. Dis trict No. 4 is made up of the smaller Class AAA schools in the metropolitan area. McLoughlin High school of Milton Freewater also has been placed, as per Its request. In fluss AAA District No. 7. Mac 111 has comiK'ted In this district in the past but was eligible under the new enrollment llm Its to drop down to Class AA competition. Lake Oswego's request to be transferred from Class AAA Dls trlct No. 2 to Class AAA Dls trlet No. 3 was denied by the board. However, It was stlpulat ed that the request would be reviewed when the second high school In Lake Oswego is com pleted. Following are Class AAA and AA district alignments in D!s trict No. 7 that will go Into ef feet with the 1970-71 school year: district alignments in District No. 7 that will go Into effect with the 1970-71 school year: Class AAA (1970-1971) District No. 7 Baker, Bend, Hermiston, La Crande, McLough- in, Ontario, Pendleton, Prine- vllle, and Redmond. Class A A (1970-1971) District No. 7 Burns, Grant Union, Madras, Nyssa, Vale, Wah tonka. Rep. Irvin Mann To Speak Monday Irvin Mann, state represents tive for this area will be the guest speaker at the Heppner Morrow county Chamber of Commerce meeting Monday noon. He will give a run down on the accomplishments of in terlm committees as a prelude of what can be expected In the next legislature. YOUTH MEET SUNDAY The young people of the Assembly of Cod, Methodist and Christian Churches will meet together Sunday night at 5:30 to see the film "No where Fast". Paint Study Course Slated in 2 Counties "How to Select New Paint Pro ducts" will be the subject of all Home Extension unit study les sons in Morrow and Umatilla counties for November, reports home agent Molly Saul. Project leaders recently received their training to teach the lesson from Dorothy Brown, extension home furnishings specialist, Ore gon State University. This lesson is designed to help the homemaker determine the type of paint to purchase for specific household purposes. All homemakers in Morrow and Umatilla counties are in vited to attend one of these timely study lessons. The les son will be taught in six differ ent locations in Morrow coun ty. Extension homemakers who will teach the lesson are: Rhea Creek, Iva Booker and Mrs. R. Lowe; Pine City, Mrs. Weldon Witherrite and Mrs. George Luc iani; lone, Mrs. Darrell James and Mrs. Adon Hamlett; Board man, Mrs. James Harper and Mrs. Donald Baker; Heppner, Mrs. worman Clow and Mrs. EI wayne Bergstrom. BABY GIRL ARRIVES Mr. and Mrs. Jack Colpitis of Hermiston are parents of a baby girl, Jennifer Rae, born recently. She weighed 6 lbs., 5 oz. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Pettyjohn of Arlington and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Colpitis, Hermiston. Mrs. Frank Davidson of Baker left Sunday after visiting here the past week. N., Morrow Coun ty Health Department. Nine children from Morrow County schools attended the clinic as a follow-up of the re cent audiometric testing done in the schools of kindergarten, first, third, fifth and seventh grades, and including referrlas from other grades. Appointments were arranged by Mrs. Chally, who also assisted at the clinic. The clinic provided diagnostic services only. Any child felt to benefit from further medical care was referred to the private physician for further treatment. Dr. Alexander Schluening, Portland otologist and instructor at the University of Oregon Med ical School, was the examining specialist. Ernest Cristlor, Inter mediate Education District, Umatilla and Morrow Counties, and Jesse McQulre, audiologist, Hearing Aid Section, Oregon State Board of Health, did the audiometric rechecking of the enndren.
