Couple Makes Home In John Day After Wedding in Lakeview Miss Terry Diane Llneeeum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dun can C. Linemim of Lakeview, and Duane I. Griffith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmo W. Griffith of Klamath Falls, were united in marriage June 13, at the First Presbyterian church in Lake view. The candlelight double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Elwyn Tesche at 8:00 p.m. Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore an A-line gown of silk organza, fashioned with sheer high-necked yoke and long full sheer sleeves. Ven ise lace threaded with pink vol vet ribbon outlined the yoke, neckline and hemline of the gown; lace also appliqued the sheer yoke and sleeves. A re movable full sweep train edged with lace was held at the back of the yoke with pink velvet ribbons. A headpiece of heavy Venise lace, detailed wth pink velvet ribbon held the elbow length bouffant veil. Sculptured flowers, with petals outined in seed pearls, created by the bride, were arranged In a cas cade with ferns and pink velvet ribbons. Matron of honor was Mrs. Warren Cook Laird, sister of the bride. Serving as bridesmaids were Mrs. James Flake of Eu gene. Mrs. Robert Warner of Al bany, Mrs. John Gochnauer of Heppner and Mrs. Andrew Par ker of Lakeview. The attendants wore match ing street-length sheaths of yel low sheer, flocked with white flowers with accents of pink, fashioned with sheer yoke and full sheer sleeves. Headpieces were shoulder-length veils of yellow illusion, appliqued with locked white flowers, and held by a flat bow of matching il lusion. They carried bouquets of sculptured pearlized flowers, ar ranged with ferns, and contrast ing pink and yellow streamers. Best man for his brother was Gary Griffith of Klamath Falls. Lighting tapers before the ceremony was Craig Griffith, son of the groom, of John Day. Following the bride's gradua tion from the University of Ore: gon with a degree in Art Edu cation in 1966, she was art in structor in the Heppner schools for three years. Also present were their daughter, Mrs. David (Shirley) Clark .and 10-month-old son, David, recently return ed from Germany. An outdoor barbecue dinner was enjoyed at the Erwin home, complete with anniversary cake and a number of gifts. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Fletcher, Mr. and Mrs. Lc roy Lusk and Judy and Mrs. William Cameron, her son-in-law and grandson, all of Walla Walla; Mrs. Wyoma Duckwortji and grandson of Clarkston, Wn.; Mr. and Mrs. George Martinson and family of Hoquiam, Wn., Mr. and Mrs. Gail McCarty of Heppner, Mrs. Clark and David, and Mr. and Mrs. Erwin. Mr. O'Brien is the son of Mrs. Rose Anna O'Brien, and the late Mr. O'Brien of Baker. Miss Maieske was a graduate of Heppner High school in 1966, and her fiance was graduated from Baker High school. The Hilder hranris are leaving HeDDner to make their home in Central Lou isiana. During their years here, thev have been very active in work of the church and in the community. August 7. 1969 Parents Announce Daughter's Betrothal Mr. and Mrs. Butch Laughlin were hosts for a dinner party Saturday, August 2. Special guests were Mr, and Mrs. Ron McCahe of Boring and Karen O' Mallev. Also attending were Mr. and Mrs. Dick Robison and Bob Bryant. A total of 11 children were present. Pfc. Gary "alL son of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Ball, Heppner, flew into Pendleton Tuesday night, August 5. He had been station ed at Fort Gordon, Ga. After 21 days leave he will fly to Fort Ord, Calif., before being shipped to Lon Bien, Vietnam. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin L. Chit ty of Heppner announce the en gagement of their daughter, Gail Anne, to Robert Medlock, son of Mr. and Mm. Milo Med lock of Spray. Miss Chitty Is a graduate of Enterprise High school, and has attended Eastern Oregon Col lege In La Grande and Eman uel Hospital School of Nurslnjf in Portland. Spec. 4 Medlock graduated from Spray High school. He re cently returned from overseas service in Vietnam, and Is pres ently with the 3rd Armored Cavalry at Fort Lewis, Wn. An October wedding Is be ing planned. 85th Year Marked At Surprise Party Mrs. Walter Rood celebrated her 85th birthday July 31. Guestr, who visited her during the day were Mrs. Harry Munkers, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cunningham, Mrs: Nnrman Florence. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Rood and Dee Dee, and Mrs. Nola Steers. A cake was baked by Mrs. Gerald Rood and served at the surprise party. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Relnhardt of Yakima. Wash, visited later In the week to offer their congrat ulations to Mrs. Rood. MISS GAIL ANNE CHITTY Grange Plans Picnic Regular meeting of Rhea Creek Grange will not be held on August 8 at their hall. Lexington Reception To Honor Wallaces A reception honoring Cpl. and Mrs. Dick Wallace of Camp Pendleton, Calif., will be held Sunday. August 10. from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Lexington Christian church. Cpl. Wallace and his bride, the former Trudy Ann Dodson, dau ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Dod son of El Calon, Calif., were married April 12. 1'J. In Yuma, Ariz. This Is the first trip home for the young couple. Dick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bus ter Padberg, attended schools in Lexington and Heppner before Joining the Marine Corps In Feb ruary, 1907. They will return to California to complete his term of service. A cordial Invitation Is extend ed all friends in the area to at tend the reception, Houm guests of Mrs. Viola Gil- man last week were her son and daughtter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Gilman and sons, Brent and Lance, of Long Beach, Calif. A friend. John Schweers, also stayed at the Gilman home. Gilman works for the Emigra tion and Naturalization service out of San Pedro. While here they also visited the Dean Gil man's and Lora Stotts.
