Sam Lawson of Caldwell, Ida ho, was an overnight guest of the Chester Wilson family last Tuesday. He is a former Irrigon resident and was traveling to Portland to visit his daughters and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Vea and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne O'Shields. Recent guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Stephens were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parke of Portland. Later in the week Mr. Stephens' niece and her hus band, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Eg giman of Tacoma, Wash., visit ed. Mrs. Mae McKinney of Pen dleton came with them. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Coy re turned home last Wednesday after having been called to Em poria, Kan., two weeks before, because of the serious illness of her brother, Harley Hammond. He is convalescing at the home of a nephew in Burlington, Kan. Mr. Hammond has visited in the Coy home for several weeks for many years and is quite well known in this area. The W. F. Coys also visited Mr. Coy's brother at Toronto, and their oldest son, Ralph, and his family in Bartlesville, Okla. They spent a day and a night In Colorado Springs, Colo., vis iting Mr. and Mrs. Walter, Pat terson. Mr. and Mrs. Chris Arneson of McNary, announce the birth of a son on May 9. Salvation Army Issues Reminder A reminder is made to all who have not yet responded to the Salvation Army's Annual Maintenance Fund Appeal for the Service Extension Program In Morrow county. The campaign enters its final phase this week according to Ted Smith, chair man of the local committee. Unless a complete return Is received, it will make it very difficult for The Salvation Army to continue a full-scale pro gram of aid during the coming vear. The committee relies on contributions to provide the funds which enable these local services to tne neeay oi tne community. The principal effort of the committee is caring for emer gency food, clothing, rent, trans portation, heat and other neces sities. The Service Extension Program also makes available, as needed, care tor unwea motn ers. medical aid, alcohol reha bilitation and other emergency care.
