Issues Reminder
A reminder is made to all
who have not yet responded to
the Salvation Army's Annual
Maintenance Fund Appeal for
the Service Extension Program
In Morrow county. The campaign
enters its final phase this week
according to Ted Smith, chair
man of the local committee.
Unless a complete return Is
received, it will make it very
difficult for The Salvation Army
to continue a full-scale pro
gram of aid during the coming
vear. The committee relies on
contributions to provide the
funds which enable these local
services to tne neeay oi tne
community.
The principal effort of the
committee is caring for emer
gency food, clothing, rent, trans
portation, heat and other neces
sities. The Service Extension
Program also makes available,
as needed, care tor unwea motn
ers. medical aid, alcohol reha
bilitation and other emergency
care.
Contributions can be sent to

Fire Safety Improved By Electric Rods
Surest way to protect your
farm from a destructive lightning-caused
fire Is a well-de-signed,
well-maintained light

County Agent Harold Kerr.
Don't forget the maintenance,
he urges, because any breaks or
loose connections couia mane
your system more of a hazard
than a help. And during Spring
Clean up is a good time to make
this check-up, to be ready for
summer storms.
The check-up should cover
these points:
Examine all conductors care
fully for breaks. Repair any
loose connections.
Make sure of the system's
grounding you might better
have a lightning rod expert do
this.
'Take good care of your light
ning rod system, and it will
take good care of you," says
Harold Kerr.
"If you don't have this pro
tection on your property, how
ever, you should give most ser
ious consideration to installing
one. Almost one out of ten fires
