Ziellnskl, Riverside High school senior, was crowned queen of the lun lor-senior prom Saturday night at the school. Larry Wilson, who was her escort, did the crown ing. Princesses and their escorts were Kathy Graham and Greg Bedord, Jana Everett and Gene Gollyhorn, Anita Pummel and Albert Phillips. A Japanese theme, "Sayo nora". was used for decorations. Music was furnished by "The Shadows" from Portland. Eight grangers were Initiated in the third and fourth degree at a meeting here Saturday night at Greenfield Grange hall. They Included Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wicklander of Greenfield, Linda Baldwin from Stanfield grange, and Mr. and Mrs. Don DeMoss, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Zas trow and Oscar Hall from Col umbia Grange at Hermiston. There were 26 guests for the evening, 17 from Columbia grange and nine from Stanfield. Morton Wolverton, master of Columbia, and Karl Krause, Stanfield master were among them. Wolverton substituted in the master's chair during the initiation, Alice Jack.on from Columbia was in the chaplain's chair, and Alex Jones from Col umbia substituted for the stew ard. The Greenfield Grange will also exemplify the third and fourth degree again at the next meeting, May 17, for those who wish to take them. Sharon Donovan, bride-elect of James Barrick, was honored with another shower Monday afternoon of last week in the faculty lounge at Riverside High school. In charge of the surprise affair were Mrs. Dan Daltoso and Mrs. Thomas Pierce. There were 15 present, which includ ed members of the faculty, and wives of faculty and other school personnel. Those present were Mrs. Ron Daniels, Mrs. Jack Jenkins, Mrs. Lester Leroux, Mrs. Duane Lindsay, Mrs. Ron ald Black, Mrs. Jim Harper, Mrs. Ralph Skoubo, Mrs. Arnold Hoffman, Mrs. Robert Harwood, Mrs. Earl McQuaw and Mrs. Roy Partlow. A special guest was Mrs. Bernard Donovan, mother of the honoree. Miss Donovan was presented with an electric mixmaster. There were three tables of pi nochle in play at the card party Tuesday of last week at the Greenfield Grange hall, sponsor ed by the Women's Activity Committee of the grange. High prize was won by Mrs. Walter Wvss, and low went to Mrs. Ed Kuhn. Mrs. Sam Beeks of Arlington and Mrs. Wyss won the traveling pinochle priz es. Mrs. Leonard Bedord was hostess. Mrs. Ed Benthin returned to Portland last Wednesday, where she has been the past several months for medical treatment, after spending ten days at her home here. Rev. and Mrs. Bob Miller of Portland visited Rev. and Mrs. George Neeley Sunday morning and attended Boardman Com munity church. Rev. Miller is pastor of the Westmoreland Bi ble church in Portland. Earl Struckmeier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Struckmeier, has enlisted in the U. S. Naval Reserve and left Sunday for two week's basic training at San Di ego, canr. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Sutton and daughter Sally were here at their mobile home for the week end from Riverton, Wyo., where thev recently moved. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Horseman of Boise, Idaho, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Hinton last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bedord and son Billie went to Walla Walla. Wash.. Saturday to vis it at the home of Bedord's niece, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Johnson, and to visit with his sister. Mrs. El ma Davis, who was there from Cutbank, Mont. Son of Early Doctor Dies in Washington Funeral services for Dr. Ralph C. Swinburne, former Heppner resident, were held early this month in Seattle, Wash., accord ing to information received from a cousin, Mrs. N. L. Lotz of San Diego, Calif. He was an oral surgeon and practiced in Seattle until a few years ago. Dr. Swinburne was born and raised in Heppner, where his father was a practicing medi cal doctor. He was the grand son of Mrs. E. J. Ayers. He is survived by his widow, May belle Swinburne; a daughter. Mrs. Robert Berst of Seattle, and four grandchildren. Ralph Thompson is reported making "very good gains" from a recent illness which has kept him hospitalized for the past six weeks. He returned to his home Sunday after being under med ical care at Pioneer Memorial hospital, and is encouraged by the steady improvement. Mrs. Vesta Kilkenny traveled to Klamath Falls earlier this month for a two-day insurance school on April 10-11. County Students On College Rolls College students enrolled at Oregon State University and the University of Oregon who have attained the schools' scholastic honor rolls for the winter terms have been announced. To be el igible for the honor roll, stu dents must have had a B plus or better grade average for the term. John E. Wagenblast, senior at OSU, was among those achiev ing a 4.0 or straight A for the term. His major fieled Is agri cultural economics. He Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wag enblast of Lexington.
