Lee Cornelison and Steve Pit kin of Portland visited Lee's grandmother, Mrs. Merle Cor nelison. on Sunday. Mrs. Cor nelison is a patient in Pioneer Memorial hospital. Visitors at the Joe Yocom home on Easter Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Rinehart and children of Ukiah and Mrs, Venice Hendrickson of lone. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cool and family visited Mrs. Florence McMillan from their home in Pendleton on Sundav. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Smith and children have moved into their trailer house recently, purchas ed after they lost their home bv fire. Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Hender son and daughter, Betty, called on friends in Lexington on Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wright and three children and Jack Mounts of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Majeske and daugh ters, Debbie and Ginger, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Majeske on Sunday. Mrs. A. F. Majeske returned home with the Portland visitors for a week's visit. Charlene Jones, Kimberlee Larson and Dale Whitney, all of Portland, spent the Easter week-end with Charlene's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Jones. There were nine mem bers present and the monthly hostesses were Marie Hulett and Frances While. Scholarship applications were read and discussed and one was chosen to receive the scholar ship which will be presented at graduation time. A report on the very successful card party of March 29 was given by Marie Hulett and Betty Murdock. The refreshment stand at the lake on the opening week-end of fishing season was discussed and Dolores Wimer will be in charge of the stand. Members voted to buy new tablecloths for their tables at the hall and Ruth Jordan is to make the purchase. There will be a card party at the Camp 5 Community Hall this coming Saturday, April 12, with Ruth Jordan and Carol Norris as hostesses. The door prize was won by Ruth Jordan. Refresh ments were served by the host esses with Marie Hulett In charge of the craft session, which was making flowers of burlap and teasel. Mrs. Vcrlin Conner was In The Dalles last Wednesday for medical care and went on to Al bany to spend until Sunday vis iting with Mr. and Mrs. Steve Benson and with David Lovell. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Dyer spent Easter week-end at Oakridge visiting their daughter and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. James Lyche. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Stewart left last week for Connersville, Okla., upon receiving word of the death of Mr. Stewart s bro ther-in-law. They plan on being gone about two weeks. Of interest here Is the news of the birth of a daughter on March 30 to Mr. and Mrs. Mick ey Wright of Pendleton. The ba by weighed 7 lb., v oz., and has been named Kenna Diane. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Schroeder of Omak, Wash., William K. Wright of Fossil, and Mrs. Jewell Webb oi Challenge, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Bell and children of Portland spent Eas ter week-end visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kelso. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rector and family moved this past week end to Fossil where they will live in one of Mrs. Scott Sas sers' houses. C. L. Flack was taken to The Dalles last Thursday morning by ambulance where he entered The Dalles General hospital for treatment. Ron Saddler of Portland spent the week-end here with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Sad dler. Mr. and Mrs. William Eldridge of Milton-Freewater visited Fri day with Mr. and Mrs. Doyal Hubbell and family. Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Baker of John Day were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wham and family. On Monday morning, Ken Wham left for Fort Lewis, Wash., where he will be sta tioned after having been on a 30-dav leave. Spending the week-end here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Meadows, was Mrs. David Dahill of Beaverton. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Oyler and son, Don, or Bend, spent tne week-end here visiting her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Bar zee, and with other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Nistad re turned home the first of last week from a combined business and vacation trip that took them to Dawson Creek, B. C. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. William Wren of Bend and were accompanied as far as Vancouver. B. C by Miss Carol Lynn Nistad who had to return to Portland to school. The Nls. tads and Wrens returned via Banff and Cocur d' Alene, Ida ho, where they visited members of the Nistad family.
