In the championship game, Riverside surprised lone bv mov ing to an 18-10 halftime lead. The young Curds had racked up a record of 27 straight wins, Koine back beyond the current season. But the Raiders were hustlers and thev crabbed the eight point margin. Not to be easily denied, however, the lone five came fighting back and tied the score at the end of the third quarter. Then they pulled Into a lead that went as high as nine points, 29-24. but the de termined Raiders surged again, and scored with 12 to 15 seconds to go to make it 33-32 in their favor and added another free throXv before the final buzzer, Doug Beggs of lone led the scoring with 12. Dick Snider, us ually a high scorer for the young Cardinals, was held to five. Randy Baker and Wayne Down ey led the Riverside quint with nine each. A son, Robert Dale, was born Sunday, Febru ary 9, to their son and daughter-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Vance, in Seattle, Wash., weighing 9 lb., 8 oz. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.- Louis Baker of Pendleton. Mrs. Vance spent several days with the family af ter the new mother and baby returned home from the hospital.
