Ullman Expects Graze Fee Change Congressman Al Ullman to day said he expects that Con gressional hearings next month will result in a reversal or ma jor modification of increased public land grazing fees. The new fees, some of which registered a 400 increase, were announced late last year by the Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management. The Senate Interior Commit tee of which Senator Henry Jackson (D. Wash), is chairman, will begin hearings February 27 on the new fees. Chairman (Wayne Aspinall (D. Colo) of the House Interior Committee has scheduled similar hearings on March 4-5, and Ullman said he plans to testify at that time. "These hearings will fully consider all the economic as pects of public land use," Ull man said, "and I am confident that the new fees will not be adopted as proposed." Last November, the Forest Service announced that 1969 grazing fees on National Forest Lands wolld be increased by a sizeable amount. The Depart ment of Interior also announc ed similar increases on BLM grazing lands at that time. Ull man and several other Western Congressman joined stockmen and other range users in pro testing the new fees. Ullman received Chairman Aspinall's assurance last December that hearings would be held on the increased fees. For any kind of printing, call The Gazette-Times.
