Mrs. Bernard Donovan wus hostess for the Women's Actlv llv Committee of Greenfield Grange at her home Wednesday of lust week. Mrs. John I'hlllip!. wus co-hostess. Luncheon was served at noon. It was voted to send $12 to CAKE, part of it to go to the School Kitchens in Chili, and the balance to CARE for the Indians in South Dakota. Mrs. Chub Warren and Mrs. Ronald Black were appointed to plan the dinner for the annual Garden Club family dinner to be held at the grange hall Feb ruary 23. Assisting will be Mrs. Bill Bates. Mrs. Phillips. Mrs. Leonard Bedord, Mrs. Donovan. Mrs. W. G. Seehafer and Mrs. Delmer Hug. Card party hostesses appoint ed were: Feb. 18, Mrs. Donovan; Feb. 25, Mrs. Seehafer; March 4. Mrs. Black; March 11, Mrs. Glen Carpenter. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Roy Ball on March 12. There were four tables of pi nochle in play at the card par ty held at the Greenfield Grange hall last week, sponsored by the Women's Activity Committee of the grange. Mrs. John Phillips was hostess. High prize was won by Mrs. Art Bailey of Arlington, and low went to Mrs. Rollan McKinney. Mrs. Don Downey and Mrs. Wal ter Wyss won the pinochle prizes. Present were Mrs. Glen Carpenter, Mrs. Zearl Oil lesple, Mrs. Ralph Earwood. Mrs. Leo Root and Mrs. Frank Marlow. Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Rash and daughters Valerie and Denlse of Lake Oswego were weekend vis itors at the home of Rash's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rash. Mr. and Mrs. Vern W'ilkie and son David of Mattawa, Wash, were week-end visitors at the home of Mrs. Wilkie's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Zearl Gilles pie. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Root and daughter Jane of Wasco were week -end guests at the home of Root's mother, Mrs. Leo Root. Mrs. Ed Benthin spent the past two weeks at her home from Portland, where she had been under medical treatment for the past several months. Mrs. Clarence Thomas of Pen dleton was a week-end visitor at the home of her sister, Mrs. Frank Marlow. Several more cases of the flu and sore throats that have been attacking small children have been reported in the communi ty. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ball, Mrs. Glen Carpenter and Mrs. Frank Marlow went to lone Sunday afternoon to attend the pro gram at Willows Grange. Cafeteria menus for Riverside Junior-Senior High school for the week of February 24-28 aro as follows: Monday hamburgers, let tuce, pickles, buttered corn and cobbler. Tuesday spaghetti, green beans, homemade rolls and fruit. Wednesday Bar-B-Q wien ers, whipped potatoes, tossed salad with Thousand Island dressing, biscuits and pudding. Thursday pizza, fruit and cottage cheese salad, vegetable sticks and ice cream. Friday fish sticks with Tar tar sauce, buttered potatoes, molded vegetable salad and sweet rolls. Milk is served with all meals. Mrs. Ethel Chambers, 85-year-old sister of Orville Cutsforth, is hospitalized in Lincoln City hospital in Newport where she is recovering from surgery per formed on a broken hip follow ing an accident which happen ed about a week ago. Cutsforth visited his sister there Thurs day through Saturday of the past week. Pam McCabe returned to Port land on Sunday, following a week-end visit here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Mc Cabe and family.
