Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John Strickland of Nvssa, and a great-grandmother, Mrs. James liobbin, lives In Neosho, Mo. Visiting the Gene Pierce fam ily over the ThankKulving Day holidays was Mrs. Pierce's sis ter, Mrs. P. O. Ualby from Dal las. Texns. Other family mem bers present on Thanksgiving day were their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mike Pierce, who Is attend ing ECK'E In La Grande, and Mary Pierre, a student at Blue Mountain Community college In Pendleton. House guest of Mr. and Mrs. Wes Sherman and family over the Thanksgiving week-end was Miss Cathy Cone of Eugene. She accompanied their son. Jim, from Corvallls, whore she Is a freshman at OSU. and he is a freshman at Southern Ore gon College. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wilson were hosts for dinner on Thanksgiving day for several members from this area. Those present were Dclbert Vinson and Lydia Wilson, both of Lexing ton, Lola Wilson of lone and John Wilson of Pendleton. Mrs. S. W. Bearer o! Portland was a guest at the Charles Rug cles home over the Thanksglv. lug Day holidays. Mrs. Searcy accompanied Ruggles and Ray Bovce to Heppner from Portlund last Tuesday afternoon preced ing Thanksgiving, where the two men had gone to attend a meeting of the Oregon Assort ation of Insurance Agents. Mr. and Mrs. Ruggles drove to Port land on Saturday to take Mrs. Searcy to her home. Mrs. Rug gles is a slster-ln-law to Mrs. Searcy. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gontr and four children from Seattle vis ited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. E. Gonty. on Thursday and Friday of the Thanksgiving hoi Idavs. On Saturday morning the family traveled to The Dalles to visit her grandparents before continuing the return trip home. Other guests at the Gonty home on Thanksgiving Day were their daughter. Mrs. Terry Blevlns, and two children from Ukluh. Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Nelson left from Portland by plane on November 24 for Pensaiola, Fla . where they were to enjoy the Thanksgiving holidays with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Kroll, and greet their new grandson. Baby Brian David was born Saturday, November 16. at the base hos pital In Pensacola, where the father Is stationed with the U.S. Navy. Har mon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Krelis of Portland, died In Walla Walla. Wash.. Sunday morning. All are formerly of Cecil and are relatives of the Krebs family still living there. Funeral services were at the Nazarene church In Walla Wal la at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Marlon Krebs of Crescent City, Calif., came for the funeral and were in Heppner visiting on Monday. He is a brother of Mrs. Harmon. Krebs operates a shopping cen ter In the California city and Is expecting to open a similar bus iness in Brookings, Oregon. Grosh ens and family of Newport, while making a Thanksgiving visit with his parents here, Mr. and Mrs. Vic Groshens, were called to Grants Pass early last Wednesday morning when they received word that Mrs. Grosh ens mother.
