All proceeds go to the Shrlners Hospital for Crippled Children at Portland, and con tributions to date from the six teen games total $160,000. Queen of the Shrine game this Year Is Debra Ann Grant, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Grant of MiltonFreewater. Deb r.t was first admitted to the Portland Shrine Hospital in May, 1967, for treatment of cur vature of the spine. This year, Webber C. Harring ton, potentate of Al Kader Shrine Temple, and a large group of Shriners of Portland will come to Pendleton to participate in one of the largest Shrine cere monials ever to be staged in Eastern Oregon. Thirty-five bands and march ing units will be Included in the Saturday afternoon parade. Grant of Milton Freewater. She attends Freewater Grade school, is a member of the Blue Birds, and has two older brothers. She will reign over the A-Z and B East-west All Star game In Pendleton Saturday. Lexington Grange Women Aid State Retirement Fund BT DELPHA JONES LEXINGTON Women's Ac tivity Committee of the Lexing ton Crange met at the home of Mrs. Martha Van Scholack In Heppner last Thursday after noon. Plans were completed for the booth at the Morrow County Mrs. Pat Townsend, Pomona WAC chairman, was introduced. She presented the group with a bank In which money will be put to raise funds to help the Oregon State Grange debt re tirement. This has been turned over to WAC groups throughout the state to help raise money for thia fund. Those attending were Mrs. Cleo Childers and daughter and Mrs. Townsend of lone, Mrs. Kenneth Smouse and son, Carl. Mrs. Ella Burgoyne, Mrs. Alfred Nelson, Mrs. Norman Nelson. Mrs. Nora Turner. Mrs. Ernest ChrlKtophcraon, Mrs. Florence McMillan, Mrs. Joe Yoeom, Mr. C. C. Jones, and the hostess. Mrs. VanScholack. Guests enjoy ed refreahmeenta at the close of the afternoon. Mr and Mrs. Alfred Hasklns and sons of North Dakota were visitors at the Florence McMil lan home one day last week, and also visited with John i pence Mr. and Mrs. Hasklns are mov ing to Lewlston, Idaho, from North Dakota. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wriuht and children of Twin Falls. Idaho, and Mrs. Jack Mounts of Portland were week-end callers at the home of the women's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Ma Jeske. Mrs. Majeske had recent ly apt-nt aevrral days in Port land with Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Mount, and all returned to Lx- tneton prior to Mrs. Wright's re turn trip home. Mrs. Delbert Ploer and child- ten and Mrs. Roy Quackcnbuah are vacationing at Rockaway Beach this week. Mr. and Mm. Carl Maetuardt and children and Mrs. Norma Marquardt are vacationing at tho Oregon coast this week. When assembled, nearly 1000 persons will have places on the field. Both football teams have been In training since Sunday, Aug ust 11, with the East drilling at La Grande and the West in Pen dleton. Assisting Hargardine for the East is Pat Fleming of Wallowa High school. Head coach for the West is Dick Sutherland of Ban don High school and assistant is Merlin McGladrey of Colton High school. Ernest Drakes Visit Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Drake were In Heppner and lone for several days through Monday ot this week. They were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nel son Connor. Drake has been working on his master's degree through a National Science Foundation scholarship at Vir ginia State College and plans to continue next summer on the four-year scholarship. Mrs. Drake is the former Darlene Connor, dau ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Connor, and Drake is son of Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Drake, lone. The couple was enroute home from the east when they stopped for the visits here.
