Ju 15. 1967 Cooking Club Meets Lions to Install Officers June 24 lone Lions Club will Install officers for 1967-68 at a meeting in the American Legion hall on the evening of Saturday, June 24. it is announced. At that time Dave Baker will bo seated as president and other new officers will also begin their work. A social hour and dinner are being planned with wives of members invited. Last regular meeting of the club for the year was Tuesday night at Ling's Cafe. Donee Here Saturday A dance will be hold at the Heppner fair pavilion Saturday night. June 17, with music pro vided by The Henchmen of Heppner. Dancing will be from 9:30 until 12:30, with a special invitation given the returning college students and other young people 'n tne we. The local combo completed a suc cessful week-end tour to Idaho the past week-end. playing Fri day night at Lapwal and Satur day night at Kamiah, both near Lewiston. The sixth meeting of the Ket tles and Spoons 4 11 club was called to order bv Sandy Mat thews, president, on June 6. at Mrs. Robert Abrams' home. Five members and one visitor. Robbie Abrams, were present. We plan ned the menu for our dinner which we hope to have the first part of August, and discussed what we should do with mem bers of the club who did not at tend regularly. Applegate Is son of the lute Mrs. Gertrude Applegate. He graduated from Heppner High school in the spring of 1963. In high school he was a star ath lete and participated in many school activities. O'Harra Girl Gets High School Honors Christene O'Harra. daughter of Will O'Harra, Heppner, was graduated with honors Wednes day evening. June 7. at LaKe view High school. She received a four-year tuition scholarship and partial fee remission from the Oregon State Scholarship Commission to attend Southern Oregon College; also the Elks outstanding speaker cup and the Soroptlmtst citizenship award. Her father, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Don (Kitty) Hughes and young nephew, Lown Hughes, drove to Lake view last Tuesday and remain ed for the commencement on Wednesday.
