Ladles of the St. Williams Al tar Society are honoring Mrs. Stella O'Menra at tho social room on Thursday afternoon March 30, with a farewell cof fee hour. Friends are asked to drop in from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Mrs. O'Meara is leaving soon to make her home at Harring ton, Wash. Several lone skiers spent part of the holiday at Spout Springs. The lone Dance Club Is happy to announce that they have sec ured Jerry and Geneva Rlchels of Pasco to again hold a spring dance series at lone at the Leg ion hall beginning on Saturday evening, April 1. Teen classes will be at 5:00 p.m. with adult intermediates nt 8:00 p.m. and adult advanced at 9:00 p.m. They will also have an adult beginners class if enough coup les sign up for them. Mr. and Mrs. Rlchels have Just completed their second cruise to the South Pacific and Australia on the SS Mariposa, teaching and entertaining cruise passengers. Mrs. Wallace Gaarsland and Marianne of Portland and Mrs. Clyde Crawford and family of Albany spent the week hero with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dalzell. On Saturday they had a belated birthday dinner for Mr. Dalzell. Others joining them for the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Dnlwll and Dallas. Mr. and Mm. Verner Troedson were week-end visitors In Port land. They visited his brother, Francis, at tho Veteran's hospit al where he has been for some time following surgery. They al so visited Mm. William Melcna. who Is now hospitalized at Al ison's General hospital At 2:30 N. W. Marshall St. in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Morgan drove to The Dalles on Sunday, where they met Mr. and Mm. Keith Peck. The Pecks took home their little daughter, Nat alie, who has been visiting her grandparents this week. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Morgan and Virgil spent the last of the week in Portland, where they enjoyed the A l basketball tour nament at the Coliseum. Mr. and Mm. Phlil Emert, Jr. were weekend guests of his parents, Mr. and Mm. Phlll Em ert from their home in Salem. Koliert Emert, a sophomore at E.O.C., Is also home for spring vacution. Miss Nancy Fllnn of Portland and Rev. Boone White and Amy, Tracy, Ross, and Wendy were Tuesday and Wednesday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert jepsen and family. Rev. White Is the pastor of the First Methodist Church In La Grande. Kimmy Cofenas of Portlond spent the week here with her grandmother. Mrs. E. J. Akers. Mr. and Mm. E. J. Akers spent the week end In Portland taking Kimmy home and bringing back Danny Akers, who had been spending the holidays with Mr. and Mm. Kenneth Akem, D-Ann and Rick Barnett also rode home with them. Miss Rita Kerr sepnt spring vacating at her parental home at Wenatcnee, Wasn. Miss Julie Smith of Portland was a week-end guest of Mr. and Mm. Alfred Nelson Jr. and family. On Monday evening Mm. Nelson entertained the fol lowing In honor of their son, Kenneth, on his birthday: Mr. and Mm. Norman Nelson and family and their guest Christy McElhlnney of Salem. Ann Brln die, Barney Nelstadt, both of lleppner and Miss Smith, Ken neths fiancee. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hams drove to Seattle on Wednesday to get their baby daughter Les lie, who had been at the Uni versity of Washington Medical School hospital. On Monday they took her to Portland to the University of Oregon Medical School, where she will now re ceive treatment. They returned on Tuesday with her. Mrs. Henry Krebs and family spent the spring vacation at Medford visiting her mother, Mrs. Arthur Boner, and her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Mercer. Visiting at Lake Oswego over the holidays were Mrs. Roy W. Lindstrom and Christina. They brought home Susan from Ore gon State on Saturday. Mr, nnd Mrs. Raymond Lun dell and Chcryle left on Sunday for Missoula, Mont., where they will visit their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mm. Francis Stack and daughter. Cheryle Is on vacation from the University of Oreeon. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barnett spent from Wednesday to Sun day with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Auno at Seattle. They made the trip by plane. Mrs. Harvey Smith and Mrs. Van Hubbard drove to Portland Wednesday for a shopping trip. Mr. and Mm. Harold Beggs and family spent part of spring vacation visiting at Boise and also In the Trl Cities. Mr. and Mm. Harlan Crawford and fumlly of La Grande were guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Crawford this week. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Schatfer this week were their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mm. Jack Schaffer and family of Concord, Calif. Mr. and Mm. L. D. Langdon and Judy of Scappoose were Tuesduy and Wednesday guests of Mr. and Mm. Roy w. Llnds from. They also attended East em Star District meeting on luesday evening. Victor Rletmann was taken to Pioneer Memorial hospital on Friday for treatment following a fall in the yard. Lee O'Connor and Tom Helm blgner are spending the holiday at tiielr parental homes irom university of Oreeon. Mm. BUI Snow and Jeri went to Mt. Bachelor for skiing on Wednesday and Thursday. They made the trip with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Johnson and sons of Mlkkalo. The senior classes of lone High school and Riverside High school took a bus to Salem last Tuesday, where they made a tour of both legislative assem biles. They also had a visit with Rep. Irvln Mann. Gordon Meyers and Ben Daltoso, in structora, accompa n i c d the young people. Guests of Mr. and Mm. Harvey Smith this week have been Mrs Smith's niece, Joyce Wilson, and her girl friends, Diane Neel ana Laura Davis, all students at Western Washington State Col lege at Bremerton. Verner Troedson entered Pen dleton Community hospital on Monday afternoon with a recur rence of pneumonia. Mr. and Mrs. David Rletmann spent the week-end visiting rel atlveg at Kennewick and Yak ima. All meals are served with milk. Susan, Maureen, Mary, and Janice Healy of Heppner spent part of their school vacation with their aunt, Mm. Ted Pal mateer and family at their ranch home. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Halvor sen and Mr. and Mm. Roy W. Lindstrom drove to Arlington on Monday evening to attend a re ception honoring Mrs. Clark Van Gaasbeck, a member of the Home Endowment committee of Eastern Star Grand Chapter, and Mrs. Miles McKay, a grand representative of Saskatchewan In Oregon. There will be a communion service with special music by the Jun ior choir. On Easter Sunday, there will be a ix o'clock Sunrise Service on the Kinzua Mountain follow ed by breakfast at the church, with Sunday School and church service at the regular time. Mr. and Mm. James Cloud left Friday morning for their home at Mlnden, Nev., after spending the past week here with Mm. Cloud's mother. Mm. Wilma Mabe. The Clouds came from Nevada to attend the funeral of Mr. Cloud's grandmother. Mm. Grade Mabe. Mr. and Mm. Jack Sitton went to Spokane Friday night to spend the week-end with Mr. and Mm. David Sitton and dau ghter Debbl. Mr. and Mm. Jiggs Bowman and son Joe went to Echo last Tuesday evening to attend the Wednesday morning funeral services of Mr. Bowman's grand mother, Mm. Hannah Bowman Mr. and Mm. Lyle Muzzy and son Kevin ot Thome Bay, Alas ka, left for their home Friday evening after spending the past week here with Mr. and Mm. Bob Dyer and Mr. and Mm. Paul Muzzy. Word has been received here of the birth in Killeen, Texas, of a baby girl to PFC and Mm, Charles L. Mitchell. The little girl weighed 6 lb., 9 oz. and has been named Wendy Marie. Grandparents are Robert Reid of Hermlston, Mm. Gladys Hun sucker of Norfolk. Va., and Mrs. Lou Wagner of Bend. Mrs. C. E. Hastings is the baby's great grandmother. Mrs. Kenneth Miller and son Todd of Portland spent last week visiting her parents, Mr. and Mm. Stanley Benson and with Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Mill er in Fossil, Mr. Miller came Saturday to take them back to Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Zemmer and family of Bates visited last week-end with Mr. and Mrs, Delbert Barzee. In Portland over the week-end were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Jellick and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. Wayland Hyatt and family went to Portland Saturday to take home Miss Dorothy Worlein and Joe Mat tison who had spent the past week here. A card party was held Satur day night at the Camp 5 Com munity Hall and was sponsored by the Camp 5 Womens club. Hostesses for the evening were Jean Medlock and Carol Norris. of the family visited relatives here all week. They returned home on Sunday.
