Kaeorted to the altar by her father, the bride appenred In a French designed wedding gown of acalloped chantllly lace. The ahrlna neckline waa accented with acquin and seed pearls, and the full skirt revealed bou ffant lace ruffles, sweeping In to a rhanel train. Mnid of honor waa MU Nyla Rliikely of Vancouver, Wn. Brldeamald attendanta were MInnc Kathryn Overlund, Carol W. Currv and Marilyn I'addock, alt of Portland. Attendant were attractively gowned In floor length cranber ry brocade coat over matching llk gown, and carried bou quet of red rosea, pink chry. anthemum and white arch Ida. Their head piece were band of katln roue on red netting. Lighting the taper before the ceremony were Gary Horn and icoper Horn, brother of the OIKIC. Traditional organ muittc wax laved by Mr. Agne Steven. lolt wa Robert Reedy, who ang "Because." 'The Lord Prayer." and "Wedding Prayer." Attendlng at flower girl wa three year-old Janice Renken. and ring bearer wa four-year-old Craig Renken, both cousin of the bride, of Portland. Be! man was Mark Osborn of Portland. Serving a ushers were Gary Horn and Roger Horn, both of Portland, and Gilbert Fergus on of White City. Ore. For her daughter' wedding, Mr. Horn wore an Ivory bro code dre with matching accea aorlea. Mrs. Groshcn. mother of the groom, chose a blue bro cade ensemble with matching oocessorlc. Alo attending were Mr. El mer G. Wolfe, Portland, grand mother of the bride; Mrs. George Plassmeyer, Hood River, and Mrs. Karl Hough, both grnndmothers of the groom. The couple greeted their many guests at a reception following the ceremony In the church so cial rooms, A beautiful four-tiered wed ding cuke, topped with pink and white wedding bells, centered the serving table. Pink roses, combined with llver leave and lilies of the valley decorated the viinre pillar between the lay ers. - Floral arrangements of white gladioli, pink chrysanthe mum and red rose decorated the reception room Serving the guest were Mrs. William E. Hough, Sacramento, aunt of the groom, and Mrs. Glenn Horn, Madras, aunt of the bride. Attending the gift ta ble was Mercedes Satarlnoff, Portland, and passing the guest book was Connie Brloness, Port land, cousin of the bride. For their wedding trip to Canada, the new matron chang ed to a green knit two-piece ensemble. The newlyweds will make their home in Bermuda, where the groom will be stationed for the next two years with the navy. He has recently been ser ving aboard the aircraft carrier, the Yorktown. On Friday evening before the wedding ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Groshens were hosts to the wed ding party at a rehearsal din ner at the Bush Garden in Portland. ' " ... , 4 4 DARLENE RAE HORN 'Courthouse Gang' Honors Ferguson At Party Thursday Retiring Commissioner Gene Ferguson, who this year Is com pleting eight years as a mem ber of the Morrow county court, wa honored at a Christ ma party held Thursday after noon ai me courtnouse. Mr. Ferguson was also pres ent to share the honors. The commissioner, who will leave his position at the first of the year when Jack VanWInkle, elected in November, takes of fice, wa presented a gift of lug gage of the courthouse staff. County Judge Paul Jones made the presentation. The parly was held in the office of Sadie Parrlsh, county clerk. Most of the county offic ials and worker were present, Including Judge Jones; Mr. Parrlsh; Assessor Rod Thomson; Commissioner Walter Hayes ; Appraiser Bill Johnson; Deputy Clurk Mary Bryant; Justice of the Peace and Mr. Earl Soward; Elvira Irby and Lillian Sweek, deputies in the sheriff s office; Mrs. Lowell Chally, county health nurse; Mrs. Herman Green of the health department; Mrs. Etta Parker of the county road department; Roadmaster Harold Sherer and Mrs. Sherer; Joyce Phegley, deputy in the assessor's office and D. E. (Shorty) Hudson, custodian. Unable to be Present were Sheriff C. J. D. Bauman and Mrs. Sylvia McDantel, county treas urer. Earl McKinneys Hold Open House Party Over fifty Morrow county friends of Mr. and Mrs. Earl McKlnney were umong those pttendlng an open house at their home In Hermiston on Sunday afternoon, December 18. Son of the hosts, Malcolm of Wasco and Lcland of lone, greeted the guests ond a young er son, Alan. Invited them to sign the guest register. Gay holiday decorations were used throughout the house and on the serving table, where a lovely rake, decorated with poln settlus and holly, were inscribed with "Welcome to Our House." Pouring coffee was Mr. Wll lard Burnett of Grass Valley, while Mrs. Lcland McKlnney and Mrs. Marlon Palmer served the cake and Joyce Howton pre sided at the punch bowl. Son Ray was home from Blue Mountain Community College; son-in-law and daugh ter, Mr. and Mrs. Jon Blake, Auburn. Wn., came Friday, De cember 21. for a four-day stay and son. Gary, and family, from Hood River visited over night on Christmas. Meredith Grove, su perintendent of the Alaska Methodist church and former minister In the Oregon Metho dist conference, will be guest speaker during the program of the regular monthly meeting of the WSCS of the Heppner Meth odist church. This will be Jan uary 4 at 8 p.m. In the church. He will present color slides oi Alaska along with the gen eral mission program of the cnurcn. Rev, Groves ha been a guest In the local church on several previous occasion. The visitor from Alaska will speak In several Eastern Ore gon churches on this Itinerary. Garden Club Christmas Party Held at Boardman Mrs. Russell Miller was host ess for the annual Christmas party for the Boardman Garden Club Monday night at her home. Mrs. Ed Kuhn was a guest and was admitted as a new mem ber to the club. Roll call was answered by giving what was wanted for Christmas. The club voted to send a donation to the State Hospital at Pendleton for Christmas. There was group singing of Christmas carols, and Christmas readings were presented by Mrs. Rollin Bishop and Mrs. Leo Root Mrs. Roy Ball and Mrs. Bishop sang a auet, -"Miver Bells," ac companied by Mrs. Prank Mar low.
