December 24. at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Walter B. Crowd! will officiate, and interment will follow at Hieh View cemetery near lone. Beckner died suddenly of an apparent heart attack while helpine with ranch work at the Delbert Emert place Wednesday morning. He was brought into lone where artificial means fail ed to revive him before the ar rival of the ambulance from Pi oncer Memorial hospital. Born September 9. 1901. at Sweet Springs, West Virginia, he was the son of Fred L. and Amanda Baker Beckner. He was united in marriage to Josephine Pedro on September 7, 1933. In Pendleton. He was a six year veteran of the U. S. Navy. As a resident of Morrow coun ty since 1928. he was well known in the farming areas around lone as a steady and dependable ranch worker. Survivors include his widow. Josie of lone; one brother. Fred W. Beckner of Washtucna, Wa; one sister, Bessie Mitchell of Natural Bridge, Va., and a num ber of nieces and nephews in Washington and in the east. Clubs Go Caroling The Ruralettes 4-H sewing club was given a Christmas party by our leaders, Mrs. Ro land Bergstrom and Mrs. L. A. McCabe on December 14 at the lone cafetorium. The Little Sis ters 4-H club was also present. We had chocolate and cupcakes ana men went caroling around lone.
