The October 12 conference here is to be a county confer ence with officials of munici palities and the county, as well as all Interested persons, invit ed to participate. To be considered at the con ference will be such points as these: Causes and consequen ces of major disasters. Whose responsibility is a major dis aster? Organizing for a disaster. Determining what resources are available. Establishing a real istic pogram for the community. During the day, a simulated disaster exercise will be set up, giving groups an opportunity to function. "As a result we hope to stim ulate some action locally," Chase said. "We live in a nuc lear age and there isn't a darn thing we can do about it." The speaker was introduced by Sheriff C. J. D.
