The annual A. C. Houghton kindergarten Christmas card sale began October 1. This is one of the chief means of fin ancing the kindergarten. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Graybeal pulled their camper to the Rad due Area Friday, to spend the hunting season in the moun tains. They were to be joined there by Mr. and Mrs. Glen Aldrich of Irrigon and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Berry of Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Shingle decker, Ricky and Randy of Ayer, Wn., spent the week-end here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gray beal, and in McNary visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dale Shingledecker. Misses Glenda and Barbara McCorkle were- hostesses for a surprise birthday party on their father, Eugene McCorkle, Tues day evening. Refreshments of cup cakes, punch and tea were served to the guests. Mr. and Mrs. Alva Whittaker of Scappoose and Mrs. Elnora Arbogast of Moreland, Okla., were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Cooley. Mrs. Arbo gast remained in Irrigon to soend several weeks with hpr son-in-law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Graybeal left Thursday for the mountains. They plan to camp and fish in the Desolation Creek area, and to hunt. The A. C. Houghton Bobcats, coached by Mike Riddle, won a 27-0 victory over Heppner on the A. C. Houghton football field Thursday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Schmeder took their daughter Ann to La Grande Friday, where she en rolled for her sophomore year at Eastern Oregon College." On the way home, Schmeders stop ped at Weston to see the foot ball game played between Wes ton and Riverside High school.
