Dinner was enjoyed at noon after which the group spent the afternoon visiting. Those present were daughters Mrs. Bonita Stitts of Yakima, Mrs. Edward (Ruth) Brunelle of Grandview, Wn., Mrs. W. I. (Myrtle) Miller of La Grande, and sons William N. of Portland and the host, Charles C. Jones. Others present for the day were, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Can ham and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Don Canham and children of Seattle, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Crow and children of Hermiston, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lovelace of Port land, Charlene Jones and Glenn Eatch of Portland and Florence McMillan of Lexington. Ramona Smith, small daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Smith, is a patient in Pioneer Memorial hospital suffering head injuries received while at play bunday, Rev. and Mrs. Smith will have to postpone the date of their de parture to their new home at Jasper for about a week. Rod Rogers, small son of Mr, and Mrs. John Rogers of Hepp ner, visited his grandparents, Mr, and Mrs. Armin Wihlon, over the week-end. While here he was taken ill and spent several days in Pioneer Memorial hospital. Mrs. A. F. Maleske and Mrs. Florence McMillan were La Grande and Pendleton callers on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Majeske and family returned home on Tuesday from a vacation spent at the coast and at Maupin with the Jack Mounts family. Mrs. George Irvin and son Billy of Rufus were Lexington callers Thursday. Her da'iehter, Vickl returned home with her after a 10 day visit at the Vic Groshens, Jr., home. Kenneth Jones returned to his home after several days visit in Rufus. Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Ledbetter and children are home after a trip to the coast and East Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Marqurdt and children were Portland vis itors for several days last week, Visitors in Lexington from Portland over the week-end were Mr. and Mrs. Max Breeding and Glenn Eatch. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hunt, E. E. Peck and children were in Portland on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Mel Boyer and family were Lexington callers from their homo in Hood Kiver over the Labor Dav holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hunt and small son have returned to their home in Westminster, Calif., af tor several weeks at Springfield and Lexington. Mr. Hunt is the son of Mrs. Bortha Hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hunt have been vacationing in Spo kane and at the coast. Mrs. Jim Gorman of Walla Walla is spending some time at the O. W. Cutsforth ranch while Mr. Gorman is in Arco, Idaho, attending school. Linda Whetmore of The Dalles returned to her home Friday af ter visiting for several days at the O. W. Cutsforth home. Visitors at the O. W. Cutsforth cabin over the Labor Day holi day were Mr. and Mrs. Mel Boyer and children, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marsh, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Smidt and children of Mosier, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pointer and daughter of Corvallls, Mr. and Mrs. Linnard Sinpkins and child ren, Philip and Linda Whetmore, Bill Weatherford and children Billy and Carla, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Head and son, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Lash, of Heppner, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Cutsforth and children, Mrs. Goodwin, Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Cutsforth and child ren and Mrs. Jim Gorman of Walla Walla. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Papineau of Lexington have a son born in Mrs. Papineau's former home city of Tacoma, Wn., Friday. He weighed 8 lb. 8 oz. and is their first child. Mr. and Mrs. Asa Way, who have been in Burns for the sum mer, are parents of their first child, a 6 lb. 3 oz. daughter, born Friday in Burns. Mr. Way, who attends Portland State College in the winter, has been working in Burns during the summer. Greece Davidson was a pat- lent in Pioneer Memorial hos pital for a tonsillectomy last week.
