COLUMBIA BASIN ELECTRIC CO-OP MONUMENT Miss Catherine Gunness of Hamilton became the bride of William Clifford Howell on Friday, May 10, at 10 a.m. in the Monument Com munity church with Rev. Ken neth Thomas officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Verna Arlt of Hamilton and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Howell of Monu ment and a high school graduate here in 1962. Best man was Samuel Howell, brother of the groom, and Miss Judy Davis was bridesmaid. They took a wedding trip to Kennewick, Wn., and now make their home on the Kerns Ranch where he is employed. Ralph Hawk has been a pat ient at St. Anthony hospital in Pendleton where he underwent surgery. Donald Mclnnes is now em ployed in Salem with the Vo cation Rehabilitation office. He expects to move his family there after school is out. He was home over the week-end. Mrs. L. D. Vinson drove to Heppner last Wednesday to get her husband, L. D. Vinson, when he was released from Pioneer Memorial hospital where he had surgery. While there she also attended the Home Extension Festival. Mrs. Vera Gardner, Mrs. Ellen Stubblefield and Mrs. Murd Stubblefield drove to Portland last Wednesday where Vera will attend REA classes. They re turned home' Sunday evening and Vera's mother, Mrs. Vicky Drury came back with them. Mrs. Ernest Johnson, Mrs. Francis Noland and two sons drove to Prineville Friday on business. Mrs. Cloe Page of Nelscott spent a few days here on busi ness. Mr. Duffy, high school teacher here, and his family will reside at Burns next fall where he will be teaching the coming year. Ray A. Farrar spent the week end at Brownsville visiting his mother. A bridal shower was held last Wednesday evening at the Ray Davis home in honor of Mrs. William Howell. There were 38 guests present and presented her with many lovely presents. Hos tesses were Mrs. Ray Davis, Mrs. Nestle Ejhardt and Miss Peggy Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Martin and family of Prineville spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Martin. The Ladies Aid met Tuesday afternoon at the Henry Cupper home. They presented Rev. and Mrs. Kenneth Thomas a quilt they had made for them. They expect to leave the community in June. Gary Martin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ansil Martin of Prineville, is spending the week here with his grandparents. A bridal shower was held Sat urday afternoon in the school Home Ec. room for Miss La Vonne Bleakman. There were 32 present. Hostesses were Mrs. Cora Stubblefield, Mrs. Oletta Farrens, Mrs. Darlene Forrest and Mrs. Lora Ann Vaughan. IS '" ' . Parker, Lois Springer and Evelyn Ruzick, all of Pasco, Wn., who came to spend a day with Mrs. Huston. Coming for two days of visiting recently were Mr. and Mrs. Silva Huston of Chico, Calif. They had made the trip north to attend the Wasco coun ty pioneer picnic and then came over to Heppner to visit with Mrs. Huston.
