The boys will have their first workout at 3 p.m. the same day, he said. Although some of the 1961 team's best players were lost by graduation, there is a good nuc leus of veterans returning, the coach said, and a likely group of freshmen is expected to be on hand. "We will have to shift some linemen to the backfield," the coach of the last year's B-8 state runnerups declared. After taking a vacation to Montana and to the World's Fair in June Coach Biehl has been working for the Morrow County Grain Growers this sum mer at the lone elevator. Over The Tee Cup Buick Lauds Farley On 10th Anniversary Buick Motor Division of Gen eral Motors through It. S. With ers, general sales manager, has extended congratulations to James J. Farley of Farley Motor Company, Heppner, for complet ing 10 years as a Buick dealer. "This is an important mile stone in our relationship," With ers wrote. "Buick is genuinely proud of the large number of dealers whose association with the factory dates back so many years. Sound factory-dealer re lationships contribute Import antly to growth and progress, and naturally, we are looking forward to even greater achieve ments for Buick in the years ahead." By DEE GEIBBLE This Tuesday found six sulk ing sillies out to slap the ol' white pill around (ana slap it we did). This game is the most exaspirating when every shot goes the wrong way, or falls short, or gets lost. Makes one contemplate doing something else for fun. This is the time of year when there are so many things to do, but for goodness sake, gals, don't give up the game for keeps. The six of us played "spec." Winners were VI Lanham, Kay Robinson, Marie McQuarrie and Hazel Mahoney. (Corkie Norene and I also played). Sunday found several groups playing, and several visitors have been seen on the course this past week. I would like to address this next paragraph to the boys who have been seen breaking the Green Fees Box. If you boys had spent as much time helping to make our golf course more playable as you did In breaking up someone else's effort, I'm sure you would have thought that "bit" over. You were seen and we are watching you. The green fees make it possible to pay tor the mowing and watering which is being done by "Hutch" and Bob Mahoney. Members, when you take a guest, please remem ber to Dav for them. The ladies were Invited to Kin- zua Wednesday. Report on that next week. Plans are being made for a Labor Day play with a barbecue at the Gnbbles following. A telephone committee will call to let you know what and now much food to bring. Let's all turn out not many more nice evenings to play, you know. FROM THE TEE LEAVES Never thought I'd see the day when the men would sneak across the creek by hitting in, on the rocks, and on over, but It happened twice in our six some late Sunday afternoon. Kay Robinson was on i "chipping-in" spree Tuesday three times In a row, and two times for par. 'Twas quite a day last week after so many hit the swamp, I took off my shoes and found 12 eolf balls. Francis Doherty spends nearly every Saturday cutting, burning and mowing greens. Thanks Fran. Some dues are payable. Check your cards and see it its you A business tycoon was ad vising his son's tutor, "There's no use In teaching the boy to count over 100. lie can hire ac countants to do his bookkeep Inc. "You re right, sir, retorted the tutor. "But he'll want to play his own game of golf, won't he?
