Through the end of June, 189 traffic fatalities were recorded this year, as opposed to 232 in 1961. The month-by-month toll for the current year shows 32 persons died in January; 29 in February; 31 in March; 27 in April; 35 in May; and 35 in June. During the three month period of April to June, 1962, not a single pedsetrian death was re corded in the state. In the same period last year, 13 pedestrians were killed.
