Heppner Merchants Salute Last year about 2,200 children died of leukemia, cancer of the blood-forming tissues. The Amer lean Cancer Society supports re search in all phases of leukemia. This support is made possible by contributions to the society's April Cancer Crusade. The American Cancer Society has spearheaded the greatest re. search attack on cancer ever launched against a disease. Sup port the 1962 Crusade of the society to assure that this re search effort to conquer cancer is continued and enlarged. HEPPNER GAZETTE-TIMES, Thursday. The accent will be on a fore cast of spring . . . including the newest pattern designs, made from the latest fabrics and colors. All of the Simplicity patterns included in the show are de signed to help everyone learn to choose wisely the fashion best suited to her needs. Many of the patterns are simple-to-make with a minimum of pattern pieces, planned espec ially for those just starting to sew. Opening the show are -Efts of separates, "Starred, ' for Begin ners in shades of turquoise. Two versions of one blouse pfitter-n are shown, on? tucked into a full skirt and the other worn out over a slim skirt . . . and all three patterns are in teen and junior sizes. FISHING SEASON OPENS RIL 21 TACKLE and LICENSES AT Western Auto The Family Store John and Betty Pfeiffer Knitting Leaders Set Four-H Judging Meet 4-H knitting leaders of Morrow county will meet with Mrs. Clif ford Brown, Hermiston, at the home of Mrs. William Schmedor, Irrigon, on April 13, for instruc tions in judging 4-H knitting. The state 4-H club office. Cor- vallis, has notified the counties that there will be a separate judging contest for club mem bers enrolled in knitting. Mor row county will therefore add the judging contest in knitting to its county fair events. Mrs. Brown, a certified knitt ing judge, will go over the basic points in knitting, equipment. reading of pattern etc, to give leaders Ideas of how knitting is judged. These leaders will, in turn, pass on this information to their 42 knitting club members. Leaders include: Mrs. Gene Cutsforth and Mrs. Dean Hunt, Lexington ;' Mrs.' David Bauey, Heppney; Mrs, Joe Tatone, Board man; and Mrs, William Schmeder, Irrigon. Sumner Makes Honors Gerald C. Sumner of HeDDner is listed cm the winter term honor roll released by Oregon State University. To make the honor Chaffee Visitors Here Mrs. Mabel Chaffee has had several out-of-town house guests during the past week. Spending several days here last week were her brother-in-law and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Chaffee of Spokane, Wn. They continued on to Seattle to be present for the opening of the World's Fair. On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Routh of Kennewick, Wn., were visitors here. Mr. Routh is a brother to Mrs. Chaffee. Two on U of O Roll Larry Lyman Tibbies, son of Dr. and Mrs. L. D.
