Thurs day, March n, and were in i-on don at midnight ll'blJ, or a. m. London time, on the first leg of a trip to Rome, Mr. Knighten said. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Miller (Ana Jean Knighten) planned to meet at Rome, where the latter is a marine biologist. Services Are Held For Dorothea Suter Funeral services for Mrs. Hen ry (Dorothea) Suter, daughter of pioneer Morrow county parents, were at Clayville Chapel, tsta cada, Thursday, March 8, at 1 p. m. with Rev. David Francis officiating. Interment was In the Foresters Cemetery at Eagle Creek. Mrs. Suter was born June 3, 1907, In lleppner, daughter of Norma and Theodore Anderson. She attended schools here and graduated from high school in lleppner. Later she taught for two years in the Liberty school of the Eightmile community. In 1940 she moved to Eagle Creek and had taught school in Lstacada prior to 1910. bhe was a member of Ruth Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, lleppner; Centennial Rebekah lodge No. 147: the Eagle Creek Grange: and the Episcopal church. Surviving are her husband. Henry G. of Eagle Creek; a son, George, now attending Oregon State University, a sister, Kath erine Sauers of Del Rio, Calif., together with a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, in cluding several from Heppner. Joe Hartlc Undergoes Operation at Boise Joe llartk-, Gazette-Times printer, was to undergo an ex ploratorv operation to his back today (Thursday) at the Veter ans' hospital In Boise, Idaho. Time of the operation was set at 8 a. m. It is hoped to discover the exact nature of a back ail ment that has been causing him pain and difficulty for years. He has been confined to the hospital for about a month undergoing tests and preparing for the operation. Mrs. Hartle who is employed part time at the Gazette-Times, will leave on Friday with their family for Boise. Bill Mahon. son of Mrs. Jim McCabe, Is stationed with the U. S. Army at Ft. Ord. Calif. Ken cros-ied the Atlantic by boat and with Nome friends bought a cat and drove out from Chicago. Before arriving home, he visited a brother, Lt. Leroy Brenner, stationed at Travis Air Force base, California, and with his grandmother, Mrs. Vela Eub anks, Purtland. While in Germany, he travel ed considerably to see parts of l urope and enjoyed the exper ience.
