FILLED DATE SQUARES '4 cup sugar 1 cud chopped dates 4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts Juice of 1 lemon 13 cup water Cook above ingredients ior minutes or until thick over low heat and set aside. Grease and flour 9 inch square pan. 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed 14 cup margarine or butter 3 cups oatmeal Mix above ingredients thor ouehlv and press half of mix ture into pan. spread date mix ture on top, and add remainder of oatmeal mixture, spreading over evenly. Bake in oven 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, Cut into squares while still warm.
