Wotmi wai observed at a reception at the Lexington l.O.O.F. ball on Saturday, Decemoer v. Lexington Couple Greeted By Friends On Golden Anniversary LEXINGTON A reception was held at the Lexington l.O.O.F. hall, Saturday, December 9, hon oring Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Warner on their 50th wedding anniver sary. The hostesses for the occasion were their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Warner, of Portland, and a daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hays of Corvallis. The center of attraction of the day was the table holding the cuke, and silver services. The cake was a beautiful three-tiered creation, with golden trim and topped with a large bell centered : with "50 years" In gold. On each side of the cake were candelabras 0.' crystal with golden lighted candles, and at each end was a silver tea or coffee service. Above this center attraction hung the wedding certificate of Mr. and Mrs. Warner ana two enlarged pictures of them in their younger years. At one end of the hall was a gift table, and used about the hall on stands and centerpieces were lovely golden arrangements that were part of their beautiful gilts, me punch bowl set on a table, alone with two little golden arrange ments on each side. Pouring throughout the after noon were Mrs. Lester Warner, Mrs. Orvllle Warner, Mrs. Hubert Warner, Elva Kuhl, Ceclle Jack son, Ada Eskelson, Lou Boadlcy, Freda Slocum, Sally McMillan. A program during the after noon consisted of duets sung by Lavonne Bloodsworth, and Col leen Padberg, nieces of Mrs. Warner, and were accompanied by Betty Marquardt. Susan Mc Corkle of Weston danced a bal let and tap dance. Cora McMillan and Earl Warn er were united In marriage In Lexington December 13, 1911, with the Rev. Otho E. Reed of ficiating. Attendants were Maude E. McMillan and Cecil Warner. Assisting the hostesses for the nfternoon were Mrs. A. F. Ma jeske, Mrs. Florence McMillan, Mrs. Bertha Hunt, and Mrs. Cecil Jones. Coming from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Earl Eskelson and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jackson of Hermiston, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Warner, Howard1 Warner, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Warner, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Brown, Mrs. Allen Hanson, of Walla Walla, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Warner, Ward Warner and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Warner McCorkle and daughter Susan of Weston, Mr. and Mrs. Jack McMillan and family, and Mrs. Frances McMil lan of Portland, Mr. and' Airs. Holding a Joint meet ing with the assembly was the Mistletoe assembly with several Holly Rebekah members attend ing. Paying their official visits here were tiie state assembly pres ident, Mrs, Cleona Applegate, Medford, and vice president, Mrs. Thelma Watklns, Wasco. Mrs. Applegate spoke on the eye clinic sponsored by the Odd Fellows and explained her pro ject for the year which is to ob tain an elevator for the Odd Fellows' home In Portland. preceding the meeting many 01 the members enjoyed a no host dinner at the Wagon Wheel Ioiiowing the meeting refresh ments were served to the 35 persons present. The follow- Rainbow Girls Plan For Christmas Ball Committees were selected and plans completed for the annual semi-formal Christmas dance at the regular meeting of the Rain- now lor Ulrls on Monday. Dancing will begin at 9:00 m. and last until 12 in the Odd Fellows hall Thursday, De cember 28. Ginger Springer, Is chairman of the decorating com mittee; ueveriy Blake, chairman of refreshments; and Sherrie Ol son, chairman of cleanup. All junior high, high school. and college students are invited to join the dance with Gene Rlet- mann's orchestra furnishing the music. Highlight of the evening Is the crowning of the queen. The girls are selected by secret ballot and the queen and her court of two girls is revealed during the dance. Bar nett, district deputy Ulatee. The address of welcome was given by LaVerne Henderson of Holly with the response by Editli Mathews of Bunchgrass. At this time the resignation of Vern Batty as vice chairman was read, and Lorraine Ball of lone was elected to fill this vacancy and took her station for the day. The tribute to the flag by San Souci of Heppner was most im pressively done by the ladles of the San Souci lodge. The memorial was beautifully done by Bunchgrass of lone and the laules were lovely In white formals with red carnations and ribbons. Next was roU call of lodges, and reports read. Iribute to the past chairman was given at this time, guts were given those present, and will be sent to those not present A most instructive talk was given by the state president, and a question box was opened. A tribute to 50-year members was given with each one receiving a gift. A tribute to the president by Florence Mc M i 1 1 a n and tribute to the convention chair man was given to chairman Dimple Munkers by Freda Ma- eske. Invitation of lone to meet there next year was accepted and of ficers lor next year were elected and installed. Those include Lor raine Ball, chairman; Elsie Ay- ers, vice chairman; taitn Mat hews, secretary; Vern Batty, treasurer. The following were ap pointed officers: Lucile Riet mann, warden; Freda Majeske, conductor; Berniece Nash, USG Esther Bergstrom, I.S.G.; Mildred Wright R.S.N.G; Betty Rood N.S.N.G., and Elaine Rietmann, chaplain; Gladys Drake, music ian. These were seated by San Souci in a most clever skit in volving Santa Claus, Mrs. Santa and! two elves. Meeting adjourn ed, after which dinner was serv ed by Holly. Following the banquet and immediately before lodge the guests were entertained with piano music by Theresa Munkers of Lexington. In the evening Holly Rebekah lodge held a special meeting at which time Cleonna Applegate, assembly president, and Selma Watkins, vice chairman were guests. The meeting opened jointly with Lorraine Ball of lone and Bertha Hunt of Lex Ington filling the chair of Noble Grand, Edith Mathews of lone and Delpha Jones of Lexington filling the secretary chair, Cath erine Thorne of lone and Hilda Yoeom of Lexington filling the warden's chair, Lucile Riet mann and Catie Padberg, the conductor chair, and Elaine Rietmann and Edna Fetseh in the chaplains office. The pres ident gave a most instructive talk in the work of the Rebekahs and a report on the Odd Fellows home In Portland. Refreshments were served later in the evening. Hold Christmas Party The Women's Fellowship group of the Lexington Christian church held their regular meet ing and Christmas party at the Cecil Jones home on Tuesday anernoon. ine regular meeting of the day was taken care of with several different members reading poems relating to Christ mas.
