Idaho Trenching and instal lation of pipe have moved from the Washington border across the Pend Oreille River and are ad vancing northward toward Bon ners Ferry and the British Col umbia line. British Columbia Pipe laying moved from Kings- gate on the Idaho border across 6,600 Moyle Mountain and are advancing eastward toward the Kootenay River. A second con struction crew Is working west ward through a Crowsnest Pass on the Continental Divide. Work is moving ahead rapidly on the large Crowsnest Compressor Sta tion and ground has been broken on the Cranbrook maintenance base and the border meter sta tion at Kingsgate. Alberta Construction Is pro ceeding rapidly on the Alberta Gas Trunk Line Company's 351 miles of main line, on gathering laterals from the Alberta gas fields and on a delivery lateral to Montana. California One construction crew has placed more than 100 miles of pipe in the ground north of the Oregon border. A second is moving south down the Sac ramento Valley. Work has begun on crossings of the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers near San Francisco Bay. More than 4,000 men have been at work building the 36 inch diameter pipeline.
