They were counsellors at the confer ence, July 915. Mrs. Marco Huehes of Pendle ton was here Friday to attend the services of Orln Isaac Muooie field who passed away in John Dav hosDltal July 25. He was 82 years, 1 month, 26 days. He was laid to rest in Monument ..mpterv. Pall bearers were Mead Gllman, Hale Lemons, Jack Sweek, Walt Wlessenllun, Stanley Boyer, Fred Shank. He was the father of Vera Gardner and brother to Murd Stubble field. Jim Croker and Dick Martin drove to Pendleton Friday on business. Mrs. Bud Engle accompanied her daughter, Mrs. Earl Lewis to John Day Thursday to have Miss Marlene Lewis' tonsils re moved. They all returned home Friday evening. Mrs. Stella McCarty has been on Mt. Ranch cooking for hay hands since July 25. Mr. and Mrs. Harry W. Scott and son Robert spent the week end visiting his mother and others at Vale. On their return home they brought back the 3 children of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ward. Mrs. Ward Is Scott's sister. Mrs. L. J. Athena-Weston. Echo. Heppner. HermUton, lone, Lexington, Milton-Freewater, Stanfleld. and Umatilla ex- changes. Slusher has been a stafT super visor for the company the past year In the Portland headquar ters of the commercial depart ment, according to District Man ager W. R. Brown. A native Oregonlan. Slusher itarted with the phone company at Portland In 1947 as a general sales representative. In 1951 he was appointed assistant manager in a Portland unit of the business office. Since that time he has been manager at St. Helens and various units of the Portland business office. Slusher lived in Pendleton for 11 years as a youth and his wife, the former Sally Clarkson, at tended Pendleton High School. They have three children: Bill, 15; Karen Lee, 13; and Lin Dale, 9. The family will move to Pen dleton as soon as housing ar rangements can be completed. Until then, Slusher will commute on weekends. Meeting Cancelled The regular August meeting of the Pioneer Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will not be neia as previously planned. The group will meet again In September at the Bank of Eastern Oregon. Carlton Sober, pas tor of The Church of the Naj arene in Heppner, attended Pine Low Camp for Juniors at Deer Park. Wn, July 24 through 28 and served as counsellor there during that time. Five from this area were among the 240 youngsters at tending. From here were Bob and Monty Crum. Frank and Floyd Wiley and Bruce BotU. The Rev.
