Fair, Rodeo Among Year's Top Annual Shows in County if Marion C Green Each year, in the fall, the Morrow County Fair and Rodeo Is staffed as a county wide proj ect by the citizens of Morrow county. Held in the modern facilities located on the edge of the Hepp ner city limits in the Hinton Creek Valley, the facilities boast a modern fair pavilion that has ample room for booths, exhibits and demonstrations. It also has a large dance floor and kitchen as well as facilities for a com munity meeting room. In conjunction with the fair pallion there are many barns, stalls, pens and cages to accom modate the many livestock and poultry exhibitors each year. There Is keen competition among the residents of Morrow county in exhibiting their agri cultural produce and livestock. The 4 H Club and Future Farm ers of America competition and exhibits are the culmination of a year's worK and are excellent and very Interesting to view. The rodeo grounds are among the most modern In the state, with a new covered grandstand directly behind the bucking chutes offering the spectator the closest view of the activities In the chutes anywhere in the Fa cific Northwest The Morrow County Rodeo Is an amateur show that draws cowboys from all the Pacific Coast and Canada. It offers all the major rodeo events as well as races and other specialty events that have proved to be very entertaining in tne past years. The fairways are narrower than most courses and the aforemen tioned Willow Creek offers many a lateral water hazard, but Mor row county golfers have learned to be accurate. Ladies' day competition and men's tournament play on Sun day mornings, as well as a two ball foursome Sunday afternoons are held weekly from April thru October. I FINE CAMP SITES are located In the Umatilla National Forest where the pine wood are free from underbrush. Here forestrymen are shown setting up tables and camp fireplace at the Fairview Campgrounds, some 39 miles south of Heppner. Thi camp is equipped for 12 camping unit.
