The presentation gave a clearer view of the Arab-Jewish problem. A short business meeting was held in the morning. Mrs. John Craves, Heppner, Mrs. Weldon Witherrite, Echo, and Miss Lota Humphreys, Heppner, were in stalled as newly elected county committee women . New county committee officers were named: Mrs. warren Mc Coy, Irrlgon, chairman; Mrs. Ed Baker, Lexington, vice chairman; Mrs. Randall Martin, Heppner, secretary; and Miss Leta Hum phreys, Heppner, treasurer. The Heppner drill team per formed a drill before the group, Guests coming from Tendleton were In costume representing the Pendleton Round Up. Rita Rose was dressed as "Chief Broad bottom," and invited all officers ami members to smoke the peace pine with her. The Pendleton members were Esther Gillett, Ha zed Case. Bevrly Johnke, Llllle Hoover. Lillian Dockwtller, Vir glnia Ruff, Bernice Yack, Mrs. Rose, and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Storrie. Refreshments were served by Theta Stratton and Alice Sow- ard. The tables were covered with white cloths decorated with black bars and notes of music. Farra had as dinner guests Friday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Hiatt, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Chisolm and Mrs. Agnes Baker all of Portland, Mrs. Clara Gertson and Mrs. E. E. Gonty of Heppner. After dinner, the group attend ed the Degree of Honor lnspec tlQnt,the Christian church. Other guests were women teachers and faculty wives of Heppner high. The "coming and going" tea, new this year, was arranged be cause of the large number of senior girls. During the afternoon over 73 attended. Each senior girl was presented a corsage with her class colors as she arrived. Miss Humphreys took pictures of each girl and her mother. The polaroid pictures were given the girls as souv enirs. During the afternoon a girls' trio made up of Pam Cochell, Virginia Moore and Ginny Lou Turner sang two numbers, ac companied by Judy Cochell. Judy played two piano solos; Ginny Lou played a piano solo, and Delora and Donna Whybrew played a piano duet. The tea table was beautiful with a lace cloth that Miss Humphreys had purchased while In Brussels recently. Spring flowers were flanked by pink candles in silver holders. Mrs. Roice Fulleton, outgoing presi dent, and Mrs. E. E. Gonty, in coming president, presided at the table. Soroptimlst members helped out about the rooms.
