The next meeting will be a mountain tour for nature study on June 13. Jones, Sheryl Harris, and Shar on Kelthley as hostesses. Following the opening of the lovely gifts, the hostesses served cake, molded flower Ice cream nd punch to guests. Be fore the meeting the members were entertained by the music classes of Lexington, lleppner and lone. Ileppner'a gTuup had several solos, and a quartet under the direction of Miss Joyce Mesler, and Lexington had a group sing Ing of several numbers under the direction of Miss Maxlne Mun ford. The lone group had a folk dance by a group of youngsters and a clarinet trio, under the direction of Miss DcKlotz. Following this the regular business meeting was held with the master, Bill Smethurst. pre siding. At this time a report was given by Kenneth Smouse and Alvln Wagenblast on the bill 487, and a report by the Insur ance agent, Cecil Jones. Also at this time the charter was draped in honor of Ted McMillan, a de parted brother, and the position of gate keeper held by Mr. Mc MUIan was declared vacant. Following the meeting refresh ments were served In the base ment. Mrs. Wagenblast announ ced H.E.C. would be held Thurs- day at the Bertha Hunt home. Epsilon Sigma Alpha Installs New Officers Beta Omega Chapter of Ep silon Sigma Alpha held a ban quet dinner and Installation at the Ilermlston Elks club on Sat urday, May 13. Twenty-six mem bers and their husbands were in attendance from lone. A pledge ceremony in honor of Helen Lujan and a Jewel cere mony for Ida Lee Engelman were held following the dinner. Martha Peterson and Marilyn RIetmann were installing of ficers for the following: Presi dent, Mrs. Art Warren; vice-presi dent, Mrs. Robert Hosklns; re cording secretary, Mrs. Bob Peter son; corresponding secretary, Mrs. Charles Doherty; treasurer, Mrs. Don LInnell; and educat ional director, Mrs. Sam Craw ford. Susan Melby Has Birthday Party The Jolly Bluebirds honored Susan Melby on her ninth birth day with a party Thursday after noon. The girls played games before Susan opened her gifts and were served ice cream and cake. - Bluebirds present were Carolyn Bookman, Sue Griffith, Patricia Howell, Patricia Kelthley, Donna Mills, Ramona Phegley, Lynn Sawyer, Christine Taylor, Teresa Wright, and Judy Gentry. Kindergarten Picnic Set For May 26 The Civic League met Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Phil Blakney to close out the year's work and plan the kindergarten picnic. The rummage sale netted the League over $100 to help further the kindergarten program. Plans were made for the kin dergarten picnic set for May 26, j the last day of school, at Cuts forth Park. The children will be picked up from the school room at 9:30 a.m. and taken to the park. Games are planned for the youngsters, with lunch at noon, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Garbor and family of Pendleton visited on Sunday at the Floyd Smith home. News has been received in Lexington by Dona Barnett of the death of Thomas Webb, hus band of the former Minnie Leach at Muskogee, Oklahoma. Mrs. Bill VanWlnkle entertain ed with a birthday dinner hon oring her husband on Friday of last week. Guests besides their family were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. VanWinkle. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Davidson were La Grande visitors this week end when they attended the Parents Week-end at E.O.C. Mrs. Ruby Colley, Mrs. Phyl iss Cole, and Mrs. Cherry Her mann were Walla Walla visitors one day last week. Mrs. Lorine Ledbetter and daughter Jeanette, and Mrs. Lois Hunt and daughter Jeannlne were Walla Walla visitors on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. William C. Van Winkle spent Sunday with a son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Van Winkle In Heppner. The Three-Links Club of the Holly Rebekah Lodge met on Thursday at the C. C.
