Standard Announces Closure Of lone Plant Standard Oil ComDanv of Cali fornia announces the closure of the lone plant Feb. 1. P. V. Smith, district manager. The Dalles, said that the decision to close the plant was made fol lowing a two-year study of all economic factors Involved and stated that th closure was nec essary because of economic rea sons only. Th area nreviously served by the lone plant has been divided between the Heppner ana Ar lington nlants. BLARNEYS ACT AS GODPARENTS Mr. and Mrs. Phil Blakney acted as godparents at the chris tening of the newly adopted baby of the Harry Bongers in Prlnpville Sunday. The baby girl born January 11 has been named Annette Marie. On their weekend visit the Blakneys also saw the Rev. Pat rick Gaire and the Malcolm O'Briens, all former Heppner residents.
