Jar' - PrC ARTHUR LINDSTROM Pfc Lindstrom Tokcs Part in Maneuvers Tfc Arthur Limlstrom Irving In the 2ml Medium Tank Bat talion. 1st Cavalry at Gelssen. Germany, the sn of Mr and Mrs Franklin Limlstrom of lone, recently participated In man euvers of the Third Armored Div ision of the Seventh United States Army. This division known as th Spearhead Division has just completed their 19th year and their 4th year with NATO. More than 6,000 men. representing everv Spearhead Battalion par ticlpated In the mamouth review at Camp Pond, Hanau, Germany. The Spearhead Division ac quired It's name at Omaho Beach In 1941. "You Will Spear head the Attack" was a frequent mission given the division by MaJ Gen J Lawton Collins. VIII Corps commanding general. The nickname stuck. One of the major hifihllghts this year for the Division was it's participation in operation "Winter Shield" at Grafenwochr, Germany. This exercise was con ducted in bitter cold, snow and Ice over rugged terrain.
