Social Repartor :tiiiiiiiiiiiiHHiiHiiiiiiiniiiiniwwtHinHtwuuut SHERER-BARTALAMAY VOWS READ AT ODESSA LUTHERAN CHURCH Christ Lutheran church was the setting Saturday, Nov 28 for the 4:30 candle light ceremony uniting Miss Margo Bartalamay, daughter ol Mr and Mrs E M Bartalamay, Odessa, and Mr Richard D Sherer, son of Mr and Mrs Harold Sherer, lone, in holy matrimony. Pastor Werner J Fritz otticiated at the double ring service. The chancel of the church was beautifully decorated with tall baskets of white chrysanthe mums and gleaming candleabra. White chrysanthemums filled the altar vases. Tall aisle candle abra decked with greens and white satin bows and streamers completed the decor. Escorted down the white cur peted aisle on the arm of her father, the bride was a vision of lovliness in a traditional gown of antique satin fashioned with long fitted sleeves, pointd at the wrists. Alencon lace eched the bateau neckline and the empire bodice. The princess lines of the gown flowed gracefully into a chapel length train. Her import ed chantilly lace mantilla was held in place by a chantilly lace capulet designed especially for her. She carried a cascade of white butterfly roses and orange blossoms, accented with white velvet leaves and centered with a white orchid. The groom was attired In a black tuxedo with black acces sories and wore a white rosebud from his bride's bouquet in his lapel. i Miss Kay Sherer, sister of the groom was maid of honor. Miss Juanita Nichols, cousin ol tne hride. and Miss Rose Reiman, a school friend, were brides maids. Their street length gowns were of emerald green velveteen fashioned with round necklines, short sleeves and bell shaped skirts. Their slippers were dyed to match their gowns, wmte lur headbands and muffs, decorated with red roses completed their costumes. Best man was Wayne Pierce of Redmond. Ushers were Skip Prttv1nhn. lone, a cousin of the groom and Leland McKinney, al so of lone. Tom Bartalamay, Dro ther of the bride, was a candle lighter. All the men of the red ding party wore black tuxedos and black accessories, and had red rosebud boutonnieres. Miss Judy Sherer, a sister of the groom, was also a candle lighter. Her gown was of emerald velveteen made In the same style as those of the brides ma Mq Her headband was of white fur with a red rosebud and she wore a wristlet of red rosebuds. Miss Margaret Anne Michaelson, cousin of the bride was flower girl with gown and headband similar to those of the other girls in the wedding party. She carried a white basket dec orated with white velvet flowers and containing red rose petals. IV ' "f Haguewoods Hosts For Holiday Buffet Mr and Mrs Ronald Hague wood were hosts recently for a holiday buffet supper and party. Guests were Mr and Mrs Ken neth Cutsforth, Mr and Mrs Jim my Prock, Mr and Mrs Carl Thorpe, Mr and Mrs Pat Cuts forth and Mr and Mrs Herb Pet erson. Prizes were awarded for games and the door prizes were received by Mrs Thorpe and Mrs Kenneth Cutsforth. Potluck Dinner Held Saturday Evening At Carl Spaulding Home The home of Mr and Mrs Carl Spaulding was the scene Satur day evening for a no-host pot luck dinner. Those attending were Mr and Mrs John Pfeiffer, Dr and Mrs E K Schaffitz, Mr and Mrs Ro bert Frinke of Lexington, Mr and Mrs Robert Penland, Mrs Velma Glass, Dr and Mrs James Norene, Judie Brannon and Mr and Mrs Spaulding. bv Miss Norma Gettman who also played the wedding marches and incidental music. Their cor sages were of white carnations and red roses. Miss Linda Helmbicner, lone. a cousin of the bride was In charge of the guest book. Her cor sage was of white carnations and red roses. Mrs E M Bartalamay was gowned In a Dior blue afternoon dress of Heht weleht wool and wore accessories of deeper blue. Mrs Harold SheTer wore a gown of belce lace with beige and brown accessories. Both mothers wore corsages of pink rapture roses. Two grandmothers of the bride were present. Mrs Con Schauer man and Mrs Adam Bartalamay, Sr. Their corsages were of white carnations. Immediately following the wedding ceremony, a reception honoring the bridal couple was held in the reception parlors of the church. The long reception table was dressed in white damask and edged with fern and red roses. jCenter of Interest was the beaut iful round wedding cake, tiered land pillared, and topped with a j white satin bell on a pearl edg 'ed, heart shaped base. Serving the cake were Mrs Arthur Schimke, aunt of the bride, and Mrs M Palmer, lone, aunt of the groom. Mrs Ted Stuhlmiller, Quincy, aunt of the bride was In charge of the coffee service. Mrs Glen Sherer, Echo, aunt of the groom, served punch. Miss Judy Fink, Pasco, cousin of the bride was in charge of the gift table. Miss Maureen Wolf and Miss Sally Heimblgner entertained with piano music throughout the reception. All reception assistants had Holiday Open House Held Saturday Night The Jack Bedford home was fpstlve with Christmas decor ntinns Saturday evening when Mr and Mrs Bedford and Mr and Mrs Frank Hamlin entertained at an open house. A smoreasbord was served dur Ing the evening to about 90 guests who called during me hours of 7 to 10 P m. Miss Kay Sherer Tells Engagement Mr and Mrs Harold Sherer of lone announce the engagement of their daughter Kay xo jvir Wayne D Pierce of Redmond, Oregon. Mr Pierce was a former teacn er in the lone schools and now owns and operates the Redmond Radio and Music Center. Kay is a student at Eastern Oregon College. No wedding date has been set. The groom is a graduate of the lone hteh school and has attended Eastern Oregon College. The bride is a graduate of the Odessa high school. For her going away costume, the bride wore a red velveteen gown with white accessories and the orchid from her bridal bouquet. After a short honeymoon to Portland and other coastal points, the young couple will make their home in lone, where the groom is associated with his father in farming.
