Truman Cannon of Portland was a visitor at the home of his brother and family, Mr and Mrs Pete Cannon. He also spent Christmas with his mother, Mrs Ada Cannon in Heppner. A candlelight service was held at the Community church Christ mas eve. Services were held at St Williams Catholic church Christmas morning and services were held at the Valby Lutheran cliurch in Gooseberry Christmas afternoon. Haptismal services were held at the Community church Sun day morning for Donna Marie and Debra Lee, twin daughters of Mr and Mrs Lee Palmer. Rev Rod MacKenzie, pastor officiated asjisted by Robert DeSpain. Those who attended the ski retreat with Pilgrim Fellowship groups at Reed College Ski Lodge on Mt Hood Monday through Wednesday of this week were Paula Barak, Bob Rice, Kenneth Nelson, Kenny Lynn Smouse, and Leslie Madden and Rev Mac Kenzie. Groups from the Con gregational churches In Hills boro and Forest Grove will meet there with them. Pvt Jerry Bristow of Ft Leonardwood, Mo spent a 15 day leave with his parents, Mr and Mrs E W Bristow. Mr and Mrs E W Bristow, Pvt Jerrv Bristow. Donald Bristow, spent Christmas in Portland with Mr and Mrs Tom Bristow and in Bay City with Mr and Mrs Ernest McCabe and family. Mr and Mrs John Sanders and children spent Christmas with the John Eubanks family in the Eubanks mountain home. Lt LeRoy Brenner of Okinawa is home on a 15 day leave with his parents, Mr and Mrs C E Rrenner. The Brenner's other son, Pvt Kenneth Brenner of Fort Ord, Calif Is also on a furlough. The Brenners and sons spent Christmas in Portland. Their other son, Gary Brenner, student at the University of Oregon was also in Portland. Judy Eubanks returned to lone with them and will go to school here. Mr and Mrs Cecil Thome spent Christmas in Walla Walla with her sister and family, Mr and Mrs Carl Grassi. Mr and Mrs Don Brostrom and family of Halsey were visitors Sunday at the Thornes. Christmas guests at tne Lewis Halvorsen home were Mr and Mrs Archie Munkers and Miss Maureen Groves of Lexington and Mrs Hattie Crabtree. Guests at the Leo Crabtree home Christmas were Mr and Mrs Larry Scheelar and children of Spokane, Mr and Mrs Don Scheelar and children and Mrs Blanche Scheelar of Salem and Mr and Mrs Alvln McCabe and son. Miss Kay Sherer of La Grande and Wayne Pierce of Redmond spent Christmas Eve at the home of Mr and Mrs Meador in Prairie City. RIETMANNS HOLD REUNION The Rletmann family reunion was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Omar Rietmann Sun day, Dec 27.
