The Rev Austin McGhee of ficiated at the double ring cere mony. The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Lester Dugan, wore a full length white satin gown with cummerbund of satin and white accessories. She car ried a nosegay of pink and white carnations. Attendants were Miss Edna Morris, cousin of the bride, who wore a pink nylon dress, baller ina length, and a pink and white carnation corsage, and Cary Hastings, brother of the groom. Carolyn Bookman, cousin of the bride, candlelighter, was dressed in a blue bellerina lengthrAress and her candle was tied with pink and white stream ers. Also dressed in blue was flower girl Sheryl Ann Edwards and she carried a basket of white petals. Miss Charlene Jones of Lex ington played the wedding music and accompanied Franklin Mess enger who sang, "Always" and "The Wedding Prayer." For the wedding the bride's mother chose a beige dress with black accessories and she also had a pink and white carnation corsage. The bride's table was covered with a white cloth and centered with a five tiered wedding cake decorated with white bells and hearts and pink roses, with a miniature bride and groom at the top. After the bride and groom had cut the first piece of cake the remainder was cut bv Mrs O G Breeding of Lexington and Mrs Lucille Wlzner, Hermiston, sis ter of the bride cut the groom's cake. The bride's three nieces, Teresa, Ramona and Charlenb Wizner, served the cake. Miss Florence Morris, cousin of the bride and Mrs N D Bailey poured and" another cousin of the bride, Miss Doris Morris was at the punch bowl. Mrs Bill Edwards and Mrs Frank Adkins were in charge of the gift table and Mrs Paul Breeding the guest book. The couple left immediately on a wedding trip to Centralia, Washington and for the trip the bride chose a white and silver ballerina dress with tweed duster and white accessories and she wore the corsage from the cen ter of her wedding bouquet. They are now at home on the Condon highway in a new home that Mr Hastings has just com pleted. Mrs Evans Holds High Score In Pinochle Mrs Walter Becket entertained the pinochle club Friday after noon of last week at her home. Those attending were Mrs Fred Mankin, Mrs Ben Anderson, Mrs O E Wright, Mrs Earl Evans, Mrs Max Buschke, Mrs Henry Hap pold, Mrs Robert Lowe. High score for the afternoon was held by Mrs Evans, with low going to Mrs Mankin. The double pinochle prize was won by Mrs Happold and Mrs Evans. Dessert was served. Cox Home Scene Of Barbecue Dinner Mrs W E Irwin of Spokane was hostess at a barbecue dinner Fri day evening at the home of her sister, Mrs Elbert Cox. The guests were Mr and Mrs Ambrose Chapin and their grand son Jeff, Mrs Jennie Severson of Seattle, and Ed Bennett. Annual Heppner Mill Picnic Held Sunday The annual Heppner Pine Mill picnic was held Sunday at the Brooks Memorial Park in Wash ington. Those attending with their families were Mr and Mrs Bill Turner, Mr and Mrs Kenneth Keeling, Mr and Mrs Jim Lov gren, Mr and Mrs Earl Burnett, Mr and Mrs David Eckman, Mr and Mrs Eddie Gunderson, Mr and Mrs Archie Alderman, Mr and Mrs Kenneth Marshall, Mr and Mrs Dewey Britt, Mr, and Mrs Jerry Bailey, Henry Skinner, Mr and Mrs D H Jones Jr, Mr and Mrs Paul Koenig, Mr and Mrs Bill Sowell, Mr and Mrs Elmer Moe, Mr and Mrs Frank Robin son, Mr and Mrs Howard Petty john, and Mr and Mrs Archie Watkins. The picnic committee was Mr and Mrs Howard Pettyjohn, Mr and Mrs Eddie Gunderson, Mr and Mrs Archie Watkins, Mr and Mrs Jack Ployhar, Mr and Mrs David Eckman, Mr and Mrs Bill Turner, and Mr and Mrs Ken neth Keeling. Dinner-Theater Party Fetes 7th Birthday Thursday evening of last week Jimmy Healy celebrated his sev enth birthday with a dinner party at the home of his parents, Mr and Mrs Jack Healy. His guests were LaVerne Van Marter, Billy Wolff, Bobby Peck, Gary' Dean Munkers, and Judy, Johnny and Jean Marie Healy. After dinner Jimmy and his guests attended the theater. Darlene Turner left for Pen dleton Friday evening to visit her aunt for a week. Gift Presented To Soroptimist Club By Mrs Adams Mrs Floyd Adams, the immed iate past president of the Sor optimist Club of Heppner, pre-, sented the club with a gift of 20 small card table size ceramic vases of which she had made especially for the club to use at special parties. At the Thursday noon meet ing at the Wagon Wheel, Mrs C E McQuarrle, one of the co 'hairmen of the float committee, made a report on the progress and plans for the float. Miss Leta Humphreys, pro gram chairman, conducted a question and answer period on education in Soroptimism. Don Hatfields Given Farewell Dinner Honored guests at a no-host farewell dinner party at the Hep pner Elks Saturday were Mr and Mrs Don Hatfield of Lexington. Those attending were Mr and Mrs LaVerne Van Marter, Mr and Mrs James Farley, Mr and Mrs Frank Anderson and Mr and Mrs Alex Thompson. Mr and Mrs Hatfield were pre sented with a farewell gift. Mr and Mrs 0 G Breeding mo tored to Glide, Oregon to the home of their daughter and hus band, Mr and Mrs Floyd Smith last week. Mrs Breeding remain ed for a visit and to help care for Mrs Smith who is recuper ating from major surgery. The Tops Club met at the usual time on Monday night at the city hall.
