A social hour in the dining room followed the meeting. The tables were beautifully decor ated with spring flowers. The decorating committee was Mrs Dick Wilkinson, Mrs Roy Quack enbush and Mrs Harold Becket The refreshment committee was Mrs Frank Wilkinson, Mrs Floyd Worden, Mrs E K Schaf fitz, Mrs Joe Wright and Mrs Lowell Cribble. Jan Karen Wizner Tells Engagement To Lexington Man Mr and Mrs R E Wizner, Klam ath Falls, announce the engage ment of their daughter, Jan Kar en, to Asa Lee Way of Lexington. Miss Wizner attended Lewis and Clark College in Portland and is now attending Southern Oregon College in elementary education at Ashland. Asa attended Portland State College and is now in the U S Army stationed at Ft Leonard Woods, Missouri. The wedding date will be set later this year. Soroptimist Club Entertained By Trio A girls trio from Heppner high school, composed of Judy Cochell, Fern Albert and. Janice Martin sang "Yellow Bird" and "Chaus- on D'Amour" for the Soroptmist Club of Heppner at their Thurs day meeting. During a short business meet ing, tentative plans were dis cussed for the annual senior girls tea to be held May 24 this year and also for the annual banquet which will be sometime in June. Kay Keithley Reed was the senior girl representative from Heppner high school to attend the meeting. The club has been asked to the home of Mrs Frank Hamlin for lunch on Thursday, April 30. lone Sorority Wins Award On Scrap Book Eileen Padberg, Betty Hausler and Irene Leathers, members of Beta Omega chapter of Epsilon Siema Aloha, lone attended the annual state convention held at Medford on April 17-18-19. Thp lone chapter won second place in the state on their scrap book of the past year's events. Eileen Padberg was chairman of this scraD book and was assis ted by Irene Leathers. J W l v CELEBRATE GOLDEN WEDDING Mr and Mrs Domnic Tatone of Arlington, who recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniver sary at a reception held at the Hitchin' Post Cafe in Boardman, operated by their son, Boardman Cafe Scene Of Tatone Golden Wedding Reception By MARY LEE MARLOW Mr and Mrs Domnic Tatone of Arlington were honored on their golden wedding anniver sary Saturday, April 18, when their sons and daughters gave a reception and dinner In the Saddle Room of the Hitchin' Post Cafe in Boardman for members of their family, with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr and Mrs Joe Tatone Tatone as hosts. Mr and Mrs Tatone were mar ried April 17, 1909 at St Stephen's near Rome, Italy, and come im mediately to the United States, living in Philadelphia, Penn for five years. The groom had lived in this country for over twenty years, having some here shortly after he was born with his par ents. He made several trips back to Italy before he was married. The couple left Pennsylvania in 1914 and came to Arlington, where they have lived since. Their family includes four sons and four daughters, all of whom were here for the occasion. They are Charles and Steve of Port land, George- of Coulee Dam, Wash, Joe of Boardman, Mrs James Flynn, Mrs Edward Hast ings, Mary Knopp and Delores Tatone, all of Portland. They have 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. One son, Robert, died in 1936 at the age of 15. Guests included brother and sister-in-law of Domnic Tatone, Mr and Mrs John Tatone of Can by, and their son and daughter-in-law, Mr and Mrs Ron Tatone, Canby, and their son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs Donald Ives, Milwaukie. They were married, April 21, 1909 at Spokane, Washington by the Rev L L Mills, of the Spo kane Congregational church and they came to Heppner to make home. They have three daughters, Mrs Sam Durfee, Prineville, Ore; Mrs R E Arington, Cumberland, Wash; Mrs C G Van Horn, Castle Rock and one son Jack Yeager of Longview, Wash. There are six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The Yeagers moved from Hepp ner to uastie kock aDour eigni years ago, where they have a home near the Cowlitz river. Mrs Hall Has High Score At Bridge The Renegers bridge club was entertained at the home of Mrs James Norene Wednesday even ing of last week. Her guests were Mrs Richard Meador, Mrs Frank Anderson, Mrs Gene Hall, Mrs LaVerne Van Marter, Mrs Bill Labhart, Mrs Alex Thompson, Mrs Conley Lanham, Mrs Creston Robinson, Mrs Eddie Gunderson, Mrs Gor don Pratt, Mrs James Farley, and Mrs Paul Webb. The winner was Katherine Fisher, center. Sherwood; and Carol Gibson, also Sherwood, was first runner-up. They will be soloists with the Music in May orchestra. The program will be presented May 9 with about 550 persons taking part. Mrs Happold Wins High In Pinochle Mrs Robert Lowe entertained her pinochle club at her home Friday afternoon and her guests were Mrs Orin Wright, Mrs Fred Mankin, Mrs Max Buschke, Mrs Earl Evans, Mrs Henry Happold, Mrs Walter Becket, Mrs Ed La Trace, and Mrs Ben Anderson.
