Mr and Mrs John Denslinger of The Dalles were weekend vis itors at the 0 W Cutsforth ranch over the weekend. Mrs Densling er is the mother of Mrs Cuts forth. Earl Miller of Seattle spent the weekend with his aunt and uncle Mr and Mrs C C Jones. Mr and Mrs Stanley Canham and small son were Friday night visitors at the home of Mrs Can ham's aunt and uncle, Mr and Mrs C C Jones. They make their home in Seattle. Mrs Jose Fredricks of Salem has been visiting her sisters, Mr and Mrs William VanWinkle Sr, and Mr and Mrs L A Palmer. Mrs L A Palmer Is a patient in Pioneer Memorial 'hospital In Heppner. Three Links club met at the home of Mrs A F Majeske on Thursday. The meeting was call ed to order by the president, Mrs Jones. The minutes were read and approved. At this time it was decided to have a bazaar and food sale, and an afternoon card party at the IOOF hall on Wed nesday afternoon, the 29th of April. The money from this will be to send the delegate to the convention. The Easter dinner re port was given. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs W E McMillan. The door prize draw ing was received by Catie Pad berg. A guest for the afternoon was Josie Fredricks. Mr and Mrs Don Campbell and children of Eugene were week end visitors with his parents, Mr and Mrs Roy Campbell. Carol Ann Palmer, Charlene Jones and Judy Darnielle were visitors in lone Sunday and at tended the church luncheon given at the Comunity church Sunday. Mr and Mrs Alonzo Henderson and daughter Betty were La Grande visitors Sunday, where they visited Mrs Henderson's mo ther who has been ill in the hos pital there. Monument News By MARTHA MATTESON Doris Capon, Ouida Cork and Pat Chan were driven to La- Grande by Rev Jack Chan Mon day afternoon where they atten ded the Presbyterian church meeting Tuesday. They stopped in Pendleton Tuesday evening on their way home and visited Mrs Chrystle Enright who is a pa tient in St Anthony's hospital. Henry Cupper drove to La- Grande Wednesday, returning home Thursday with his wife who had been staying with their daughter and family, Mr and Mrs Joe Batty and new granddaugh ter, Kay Michelle The TV meeting was held at the Grange hall Friday and was attended by a large crowd. May be every home will have TV soon Mr and Mrs H W Scott and son, Robert spent the weekend at Vale visiting his family. Charles Roach and Roy Cork are busy shearing sheep this week. Mr and Mrs George Capon, Del- sia Sweek, Jack Chan and his mother, Mrs Mae Nagaoka, were business callers in Jonn Day Thursday Mrs Donna Campbell and Mrs Lois Hill went to John Day Fri day to attend the home extension meeting. Mr and Mrs Jack Forrest and children scent Friday evening at the Roy Cork home on Cupper creek. Willard Bunch, field man for the Baker Credit Association spent Thursday and Friday in the community. Mr and Mrs Bob Holmes and Mrs Francis Fleming drove to Portland Friday on business. Mrs Helen Holmes is caring for the children. Jack Chan, Hanky Cupper and Ethel Leathers drove three car loads of young people to Baker to youth meetings of the Pres byterian church Friday and Sat urday. Mrs- George Hill and son George took a truck load of cat tle to Portland the first of the week. Nita Cork and children and her mother, Edna Moore drove to Heppner Monday on business and visited Grandmother Ellen Moore. Mrs Reeta Hinton and daugh ter Deanna accompanied Mrs Mary Lippert to Pendleton Mon day on business. Mrs Stella McCarty was hos tess at a Stanley party held Mon day at the home of Mrs Elmer Matteson. There will be another held the 21th at the home of Mrs Lois Bleakman. Mr and Mrs Mike Hutchison and children spent the weekend at Ritter, guests at the Dick Hiese home. The Stanley Boyer family have moved back next door to the store, and the Richard Drees fam ily moved into the former Boyer house. Mrs Drees is high school principal and has been living in one of the Millie Wilson apart ments. Mrs Dean Enright had the mis fortune to get thrown from a horse Monday. She was rushed to Pendleton for medical aid by Mrs Bob Holmes. It was found no bones were broken so she was back in the saddle again Tuesday. Mrs Oletta Farrens and daugh ter Glenda, and Mrs Jack Caven der drove to Pendleton Wednes day on business. Mrs Everett Howell and Frank Howell were in Heppner Wednes day on business. Elwood and Waldo Allen of John Day were callers in Monu ment Friday. Mr and Mrs Henry Martin, daughter Margaret and Mrs Jim Croker were in Heppner Friday on business. Mrs Joe Mellor and three child ren of Dayton, Wash were here Friday to visit friends. They drove to Long Creek Saturday evening and returned home Sun day. Mr and Mrs Ivan Smith -and daughter spent the weekend at Mitchell. Charlie Williams came in Fri day afternoon from Pasco for the weekend with his folks, the Dick Williams. He brought his two cousins with him, sons of Mr and Mrs Dick Fluhardy. Maynard Hamilton was shoe ing horses at the Capon-Gertson home Saturday. Mrs Kate Enright was In town Saturday from the L S ranch. Mr and Mrs Elmer Matteson were in Heppner Thursday on business. While there they vis ited their son Dale. Keith Ramsay Jr, who returned home last month from Kansas City, has received word that he had been selected as an ensem ble alternated for productions of the Starlight Theater, a drama group which holds outdoor mus icals. Twelve regulars and two alternates were named out of 175 who tried out. He will leave his home in Bend some time this month for Kansas City where he will spend a year taking indi vidual voice training. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Keith Ram say of Bend, and a nephew of Mr and Mrs Slim Owings of Mon ument. His mother was known here as Virginia Jones, oldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Archie Jones. Boardman Notes HEPPNER GAZETTE-TIMES, Thundery. April IS, 1959 Mr and Mrs Loren Yancey and son Mike of Vancouver, Wash visited at the home of Yancey's parents, Mr and Mrs Jim Agee, Sunday evening on their way home from Pomeroy, Wash. Frank Jones of Vancouver, Wash visited at the home of Mr and Mrs Arthur Allen last Thurs day on his way home from Pen dleton and Baker. Greenfield Grange met Thurs day night of last week at the hall with Mr and Mrs Ronald Black, Mr and Mrs Walter Hayes and Mrs Claud Coats as hosts. A potluck supper was held at 6:30 p m. During the lecturer's hour a contest was held on identifi cation of garden and flower seeds. The Home Economics Club of I Greenfield met at the hall Wed nesday of last week starting with luncheon at 12:30 p m. Hostess es were, Mrs Ronald Black, Mrs Walter Hayes and Mrs Claud Coats. There were 16 members present, and visitors were Mrs Rollin Bishop, Mrs Nate Ma comber and Georgia Rietz. The club voted to start the business meeting at 1:30 p m In the future, instead of 2 p m. Mr and Mrs Donald Craun, Portland, were weekend visitors at the home of Mrs Craun's grandparents, Mr and Mrs Charles Anderegg. Other visitors were Mr and Mrs William Wolfe, also of Portland.
