Check the front page of your Heppner Gazette Times for the special number which appears in the upper right hand corner of the page. Each copy of the Gazette Times will bear a special number like this each week from now to December 18. 2 Compare the number on your copy of the Gazette Times with the number on the poster in the stores of each of the 21 participating Heppner merchants. The numbers on these posters are the lucky numbers which will be different each week. Only 21 winning numbers will be picked at random this week and each of the par ticipating stores will display one number on the poster in the store. If the prizes offered by some stores are not won the first week, two prizes will be offered by those stores the next week, or if not won that week, then three prizes the third week, and so on. How ever, each week new num bers will be drawin for all prizes and none of the Lucky Numbers on your Gazette Times will be good except during the week for which they are marked. You must present the entire box in which your number appears in the paper to claim your prize. 3 NO INFORMATION on any store's number will be given by phone. You must check the numbers in person. .4 If the number on your copy of the Gazette-Times corresponds with any 1 of the numbers which appear on the posters in the stores you are the winner of the FREE GIFT which will be presen ted to you by the store which has your number Just show your number to someone in the store. 5 Remember absolutely no purchase is necessary to win the FREE GIFTS and anyone is eligible to win re gardless of age or residence. One person may win more than one time, of course. 6 The lucky wi n n 1 n g number will be displayed in the stores each Thursday afternoon and winners will have until store closing time Wednesday of the following week to claim their gifts, at which time new numbers will appear in your Heppner Gazette-Times and will be effective for the next week's gifts. 7 Extra numbered copies of the Gazette-Times will be available at the Gazette Times office at no charge. Gifts will be given for 4 weeks so be sure to check your copy of the Gazette Times each week for the numbers and check each store each week to see If you are a winner. Many at Monument Co-op Meeting By MARTHA MATTESON The annual meeting of the Columbia Power Co op was held at the Monument gym Saturday, Doc 6. Hank Alderman, editor of Northwest Ruralite, and Jack Davidson, Northwest safety man were the two speakers in ad dition to the president,' Clarence Holmes, vice president, E E Krupke, secretary Bill Chapman and manager Ben Spain. There were 249 adults registered and the HEC served close to 420 plates of roast beef dinner. George Stubblefield, Gus Pet erson and Charles Vandetta drove to Portland Monday on business, returning Thursday. Mr and Mrs Everett Wheeler tell of the marriage of Julie Ann Stafford to Melvin Hall Decern- . ber 5. She is the former Julia Ann Wheeler and she spent her , high school days at Monument. They will make their home in ' Prineville. I Mrs Bob Holmes accompanied Mr and Mrs Steve Holmes and son to their home at Boise where she will do her Christmas shop ping and visit for 10 days. Mr and Mrs Fred McWillis were in John Day Wednesday on business. Slim Owlngs Is up and about after being confined at home for 10 days. Maynard Hamilton went to the Bleakman ranch to install a dry er. Gerald Slocum and Willard Gilman were in Pendleton Mon day. There were 12 ladies at the Stanley party Friday given by Jessie Scott. Mrs Norma Rynearson and mother of Prairie City were guests Friday afternoon at the Sam Scott home. The MMM club held its meet ing Thursday afternoon at the home of Theo Owings. They have enough quilt blocks set for the second quilt for defense work and plan to make another shortly after New Years. Their Christmas meeting will be held at the home of Ellen Stubblefield Dec 18, where they will start a potluck lunch at 1 p m.
