Dodd owns the old Haywood ranch of Cupper cheek and the old Mac Thompson place on Cotonwood. Red Miller of Port land joined them at the hunting camp. Our thanks to Henry Martin who took the grader and fixed the parking lot around the school yard and Elmer Matteson who fixed the fence along the lawn and walks. Mr and Mrs Ansll Martin and son, spent the weekend here with his folks. Her mother, Mrs Ernie Johnson returned to Prineville to spend a week with them. Henry Martin drove to Prine ville Thursday to bring his wife home. She had been visiting her son, Ansll and family. Glenn Williams brought his wife and baby daughter home from Pendleton Tuesday, but Saturday morning he had to rush his wife back for medical aid. Mrs Dick Williams is taking care of the baby. Mr and Mrs Ike Shanks of Mt Vernon spent the weekend with his sister, Mrs Ellen Stub blefield. Mr and Mrs Joe Wheeler of Courtrock spent Saturday visit ing folks and friends. Lexington News By DELPHA JONES Mr and Mrs Ken Way and family of Vancouver have been recent visitors in Lexington with their many friends. Mr and Mrs Ken Way and family, Marvin Way and Mrs June Davidson and children were visitors recently at Waits- burg, Washington with a sister, Mr and Mrs Walter Jensen and family. Saturday evening Mr and Mrs Don Hatfield and Mr and Mrs Roy Martin were dinner guests in Pendleton. On Sunday, Mr and Mrs E E Peck and Mr and Mrs W E Mc Millan attended the Oddfellows meeting in Pendleton where the United Nations, pilgrimage for this district was planned. Mr and Mrs C C Jones and Mr and Mrs O W Cutsforth were Pendleton visitors one night last week. Mrs Bertha Hunt was a Pendle ton visitor last week when she purchased a new 1959 Oldsmo bile. Earl Miller returned to La Grande on Monday after a week at the C C Jones home. LaVonne Bloodsworth has been confined to her home because of Illness. Mrs Roy Campbell is a patient in Pioneer Memorial hospital where she recently had major surgery. On Tuesday afternoon several of the Lexington high school students went to lone where they listened to the talk on the United Nations Pilgrimage and saw pic tures. Those going down were, Bill Parsons, Jim Steagall, Bobby Davidson, Hank Pointer, Lee Cornelison, Tom Pointer, Barbara Steagall, Carol Ann Palmer, Dora Sue Davidson, Linda Van Win kle, Charlene Jones. They were taken down by Bob Mathews. I The honor roll for the first nine roll was released last week by Mr Waddill. Seniors, Dora Sue Davidson, Hank Pointer; juniors, Dennis Doherty, Charlene Jones, Stanley Schoonover; soph omores, Rodger Doherty; fresh men, Linda Van Winkle, Tom Pointer. Several of the Lexington high school students attended a party at the Hams home in lone fol lowing the Ione-St Joe basket ball game there. The ways and means commit tee of the P-TA is sponsoring a candy sale during the Christmas season. Saturday morning, start ing at 9:30 a m, the 5th and 6th grades will go from door to door selling the candy as their room project for this month. They will try to visit every home in town. lone News Mr and Mrs Charles Doherty spent the holidays in Pendleton with his mother, Mrs Margery Doherty. Others of the family there were, Mr and Mrs James Doherty, Mr and Mrs John Do herty, Mr and Mrs Pat C Doherty all of Pendleton, Mr and Mrs Matt Doherty and children of Hermiston and Miss Ann Doherty of Portland. Mr and Mrs Fred Anderson of Prosser, Wash were recent visit ors at the home of his sisters, Mrs Edythe White and Mrs Inrw gene Mooney. Mrs Howard Crowell recently gave a pinochle party. Those re ceivlng prizes were, Mrs Pat Do. herty, high; Mrs Vester Hams; 300 pinochle; Mrs Ed Baker, door prne and Mrs James Barnett, low. lone is getting in the spirit of Christmas. The city erected an eight foot lighted star on the reservoir on the hill, put a tree on main street and decorations across the street. Several Individ ual outside trees and lights have been put up. RHEA CREEK LIVESTOCK CLUB The Rhea Creek Livestock club met at the home of Mr and Mrs James Valentine on December 4 Gary Van Blokland resigned as secretary because he is moving to Condon with his family. Our new secretary Is Nat Webb. Our Christmas party will be Dec 20 and we drew names. Our guests were, Mrs Darrel Harris, Mr and Mrs Wilbur Van Blokland, Mrs Harold Wright, Bill Rawlins, Mrs Paul Webb, Archie Ball Sr and Mr and Mrs Leonard Rill. At the close of the meeting we had hot chocolate and cookies for refreshments. The next meeting will be at the home of Mr and Mrs Leonard Rill on Jan 4.
