Before the drive was started a party was held for all the children at the school. Prizes were given for the following costumes: prettiest, Pam Kuhn and Karen Gronqulst; ugliest, Penny Bellamy; funniest, Bobbie Skoubo; most original, David Skoubo. Mrs Walter Hayes and Mrs Rollln Bishop were the judges. The party was sponsored by the Tillicum club, and mem bers of the club driving cars In the UNICEF drive Included Mrs Don Downey, Mrs Richard Way mire, Mrs Sigvald Aase, Mrs Mar ion Morlan, Mrs Dewey West and Mrs Woody Malone. Mrs Joe Pedraza and daugh ter, Chrlstela Rodriquez, went to Oakland, Calif last week to visit at the home of Mrs Pedraza's son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs Raul Lopez. A new son was born to Mr and Mrs Lopez Oct 28. He has been named Anthony and weighed eight pounds. Sgt James Kissire of Pendle ton spoke to members of the GOC at a meeting at the home of Mrs Sigvald Aase one even ing recently. Plans were dis nissed to make a trip to Bend to go through the Filter Center, some time in the future. Patty Miller was hostess for a Hallowe'en party for members of the seventh and eighth grades at her home Hallowe'en night. Guests were Irene Potts, Eileen iriv. nnrothv Rash. Mr and Mrs Bill Thorpe went to Union last Friday to visit at the home of Thorpe's grandpar ents, Mr and Mrs Paul Smith. Jim Thorpe, student at EOCE at LaGrande, returned home with them for the weekend. Mrs Walter Hayes spent the weekend In Portland, where her husband is a patient at St Vin cent's hospital. Mrs Florence Root has return ed home after spending a week in Wasco at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr and Mrs Vernon Root. Mrs Rosa LaChance and Miss Eva LaChance of Tacoma, Wash visited last week at the home of Mr and Mrs Glen Carpenter. Sat urday the Carpenters took them to LaGrande where they remain ed to visit at the home of Mrs Esther Emmons. Earl Miller and brother Gary Miller of LaGrande were Lex vis itors over the weekend. Gary was a guest of Greg Leyva and Earl at the Cecil Jones home. Mrs Bill Nichols was a Port land visitor this week with Mrs Jim Angell of Heppner. They mo tored down after Betty Angell who has been a patient In Shrin er's hospital there. Mrs Gena Leonard entertain ed with a coffee hour honoring Mrs Frances McMillan's 80th birthday Monday afternoon. John Hentze of Junction City was a caller at the Emma Bre shears residence on Monday. He is the husband of Carla Wil lock granddaughter of Mrs Bre shears. Mr and Mrs Joe Cornileson and grandson Lee had guests from Portland on Saturday, who came for the Cove-Lexington football game on Saturday, In Heppner. Mr and Mrs Harold Beach of Hermiston and Mrs Elsie Beach were Lexington callers on Tues day. John Runyon of the McKinley Indian Mission at Toppenish, Washington gave a talk at the Christian church on Sunday night and showed some slides of the life at the Mission, Mr and Mrs Raymond Ferguson were in Everett, Washington over the weekend where they visited with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs Robert Kelly.
