Staff Sergeant Arthur Berg strom, who has been stationed at McChord Air base In Washing ton is spending a 30 day leave with his parents, Mr and Mrs Edwin Bergstrom. He will leave Sept 7 for Korea where he will be stationed for a year. He has been In the service for nine years and was in Korea during the war. Mr and Mrs Earl Wilson of Las Veuas and Francis Wilson of Los Aneeles were visitors here last i week. They are relatives of the Elys. Mrs Dallas Shockley and son, Michael Scott, returned home from Portland last week. Dallas Shockley, superinten dent of the lone schools and daughter. Kathy. made a trip re- ppntlv tn Richmond, Indiana where he brought a school bus back to lone. They also visited in Chicago and St Louis and saw some of the league games while there. W G Seehafer and daughter, Billie and Sherry Corley went to Enterprise Monday to visit his daughter and family, Mr and Mrs R J Tye. Billie will remain for a longer visit. Mr and Mrs Walter Jacobs and children made a trip recently to Colville, Wash and Grand Coulee Dam. Mr and Mrs Charles Hudson and children returned to lone Monday. Hudson Is a coach in the lone schools. Bonnie and Jack Crum are at tending a Nazarene summer camp at Pinelow near Spokane. Paul Breeding and Johnnie Darnielle were Lexington visit ors last week. Johnnie has en listed in the U S Navy and left for Portland from La Grande where he enlisted last week. Mr and Mrs George Irvln and children Judv Darnielle and Max Breeding were The Dalles visi tors on Sunday. Judy remained there for a weeks visit witn ner grandparents. Mrs Earl Warner is spending some time at the home of her daughter and family, Mr and Mrs J Clarence Hays of Corvallis. Mrs Em ma Dunwoody is the grandmoth er of Maureen and Larry Groves, the mother of Mrs Betty Groves. Mrs Garade and Flovdine Dun woody are sisters of Mrs Groves. Word has been received here of the coming marriage of Bar bara Rands to Mark Musgrove in Portland August 22.
