HEPPNER GA2ETTE-TIMES, Thursday, July 24. 1958 IN THE SADDLE . . . With The Wranglers By JOHN NEWMAN Our hearts being heavy with a feeling of loss, speaks well for our Just departed. We should re joice with them, that the Lord has a place prepared for him, where there Is no sorrow, no to morrow, no summers too hot or winters too cold, no sense of pain, where hunting and fishing is always good, where every horse Is a beauty and gentle, the grass Is always green. We should not be Impatient, when a place Is prepared for us our name will be called and may It be as It was with him, before we become a burden to those we love. ' The dance Saturday night en joyed a good crowd. Bill with the aid of Charley Daly, and Floyd Jones got everyone that came in and any that neglected to get stamped when they came in pro bably got took a second time if they left the hall. Those or you that experienced such, need no warning, those that haven't be sure you are branded before you leave the hall. It might save you money and ill feelings. The floor was good, the mu sic was good and the ladies seemed plentiful and I would say most of them paid their own way. Maybe that was the reason so many young fellows flashed so many 10 and 20'f that Bill had to make an extra trip for change. I don't know but what the girls are the smartest at that No one can tell them who they can or can't dance with, given the op portunity. And they don't have to risk their neck with some squirrel who thinks he can drink and drive. Next Saturday Is another big dance. Let's have as good a time and as little drinking as we had last Saturday. Al Says thanks fellows for vol unteering your help. LEXINGTON Mr and Mrs Don Hatfield drove to Portland Friday and on to Sa-1 lem Saturday to attend the Re-' publican State Central committee , meeting. They returned by way I of Redmond and Madras and spent a night with Mr and Mrs Johnson. j WEED CONTROL FUND ACCOUNT Total of 59 claims allowed by the County Court and warrants issued for the above claims $ 6,005.18 Total claims paid by Treasurer 5,624.88 CLERK'S ANNUAL REPORT From July 1, 1957 to July 1, 1958 GENERAL FUND ACCOUNT July 1, 1957 General Fund warrants outstanding .,.$ 14,936.58 Total of 930 claims allowed by the County Court and warrants issued for the above claims 108,987.70 Refund by Treasurer due to error in Assessor's collection 1,510.00 $125,434.28 Total Gen.
