The Community church vaca tion Bible school ended Friday of last week with a movie at the church and a picnic in the city park. Ice cream was fur nished by E W Bristow and Er nest McCabe. A program was given at the church Thursday evening consisting of memory work and songs learned at the school. Hand work by the chil dren was also on display. There were 27 children who had per fect attendance. Miss Julie Riet mann assisted with the teaching the last week of the school. Jean Martin's name was omitted last week in the list of teachers. ,She assisted with the teaching the whole two weeks. Mrs Le- nora Cauthers of Moro is the great grandmother. The Maranatha club met at the home of Mrs Mary Swanson Wednesday afternoon, June 11 with Mrs O L Lundell as co hostess. Mrs Floyd Bailey gave a reading, The Spot in Your Life. Mrs Bailey also gave a report on the annual meeting of the Women's group at the recent conference at Eugene. The club has fancy work for sale at the home of Mrs Carl Bergstrom. Mrs Grace Ware received the door prize. Mr and Mrs David Rietmann and children, Julie and Harold, attended the graduation of their son, Wayne, Sunday, June 8, from the Oregon Technical In stitute at Klamath Falls. Wayne graduated from auto technology course. Those leaving from here to at tend 4-H summer school in Cor vallis this week were Dianna Pettyjohn, Linda Heimbigner, Marilyn Morgan, Judy Morgan, Linda Hams, Linda Halvorsen, Jo Ann Turner, Brenda Town send and Kenneth. Smouse Jr. College students home are Sharon Cutsforth from the Uni versity of Oregon; Wayne Riet mann, Leland McKinney and Paul Miller from Oregon Tech; Larry Rietmann, Robert Hub bard, Mill Salter, Dick Ekstrom, and Jerry Bristow from EOCE at LaGrande. Jerry Bristow will re turn to EOCE next week for a summer term. Loy Keene returned from the College of Education at Mon mouth. Gerry White from Wil lamette University. Mrs Sam Esteb was honored with a birthday party at her home Monday afternoon, June 9. Guests present were Mrs Lewis Ball, Mrs Walter Dobyns, Mrs O L Lundell, Mrs Anna Lind strom and Mrs Ernest Heliker. Mr and Mrs J W Lytton of Gresham visited at the M G Greer home last week. Mr Lytton is a brother of Mrs Greer. Visitors at the Joe Hausler home Sunday were Mr and Mrs Clyde Klienschinidt and chil dren of Pendleton. Larry Rietmann, Kenneth Brenner, Lindsay Kincaid and Donald Eubanks attended the auto drag race in The Dalles Sunday. John Peterson, student at Port land State, is working at the David Rietmann ranch. Joe Hausler will leave this week for Stanford University at Palo Alto where he will attend summer school. Robert DeSpain will take his place as life guard at the swimming pool. Miss Mildred Bristow, of Port land spent a few days last week at the home of her uncle and aunt, Mr and Mrs David Riet mann and other relatives. She will attend the University of Oregon Medical school in Port land beginning in July. Mr and Mrs Dick Ekstrom and daughter moved Into the Whites apartments. Earl Morgan attended the State grange convention at Eu gene last week. The Delbert Emerts, and the Denward Bergevins are on a fishing trip in Canada. Mrs Leo Crabtree and chii dren, Sharon and Ronald, Mrs Alvin McCabe and Mrs Hattie Crabtree made a trip to Walla Walla last week. Mrs Lem Atkinson left for her home in McMinnville Wednes day of last week after visiting at the home of Mr and Mrs A W McLeod. She went as far as The Dalles with the McLeods. Gary Ferrill of Portland is visi ting his uncle and1 aunt, Mr and Mrs Lawrence Jones.
