The party, at the Schmidt's home, had the theme of the De pot cafe, with spring pastel col ors being used in decorations. A treasure hunt, dinner and dancing were enjoyed during the evening by Carole Nichols, Effie Lane, Sharon Keithley, Francine Moyer, Mary Evelyn Tucker, Lynn Thomas, Jeanne, Judy and Jill Schmidt and Ken Keeling, Larry Angell, Neal Penland, Tom Glass, Billy Greer, Jerry Ander son, Leland Lane, David Cres wick and Donald Craber. Triple Link Club Plans Food Sale The Triple Link club met Mon day evening at the IOOF hall with Mrs N D Bailey, president, pie&iuuig. ,berg and Mrs Lena Keiy A report was eiven on the' Easter baskets which were sent to the hospital and plans were made for a food sale to be held May 3 at the Heppner Red and White store. Proceeds from this i sale will be used to pay expen-j ses for delegates to the Rebekah Assembly. Yard 59C Eleven New Members Initiated Friday By Sans Souci Rebekahs The IOOF hall in Heppner was the scene of conferring the Re bekah degree to a class of elev en candidates Friday evening, April 18, at the regular meeting of Sans Souci Rebekah lodge. The noble grand, Mrs C J D Bauman and her supporting of ficers obligated and instructed the new members In this degree of Odd Fellowship. Welcomed In to membership were, Mrs Bertha Hunt and Ethel Dunbar of Lex ington Holly Rebekah lodge No 139; Lucille Parrish and Nath alene Riddle of Hardman, Mist letoe Rebekah lodge No 25 and Mrs Earl L Soward, Mrs Kemp Dick, Mrs William J Brinda and Mrs Lawrence Jones, Jr of Sansjof Portland with a card party at Souci Rebekah lodge. Visitors for the occasion were from Lexington, Hardman, Wes ton, Athena, The Dalles, Fossil and one out-of-state visitor from Iowa. The drill team consisting of 24 Sans Souci Rebekah officers and members in formal attire, gave their floor work during a recess. The report of committees and the regular order of business fol lowed with the new members participating. Mrs Glass ef fectively illustrated her topic with colored slides, Hostesses were Miss Marguar ite Glavey, Mrs Velva Bechdolt, Mrs Katherine Hager of Hepp ner and Mrs Gladys Ely, lone. Members of the lone P-TA ser ved the luncheon wth Mrs Gar ry Tullis as chairman and Mrs Lewis Halvorsen luncheon chair man. Others assisting were Sue and Brenda Townsend and Linda Halvorsen, served tables; Mrs Floyd Bailey and Mrs Delmer Crawford, decorations. Rhea Creek HEC Plans Public Dinner The Rhea Creek .11 E C club met at the grange hall Thurs day, April 17. There were eleven present, they spent the day cleaning the hall in preparation for the Spring Dinner planned for May 4. This is to be a Sunday dinner for the public. Mrs Steiger returned to her home in Portland on Saturday. lone Sorority Has April Fool Party ' The members of the Beta Omega chapter of Epsilon Sig ma Alpha attended an April Fool party April 16 at the home of Mrs Eldony Padberg. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs Delmer Crawford, Mrs Bill Rietmann, Mrs David McLeod Mrs Dallas Shockley, Mrs Bob Peterson, Mrs Art Warren, and Miss Joan Wright. The party was held in Mrs Padberg's basement. Members were entertained with games and April Fool jokes. Refreshments of sandwiches, cokes and coffee were served by the hostesses. Refreshments were served from a table centered with a basket of Talisman rosebuds, with wed ding bells on the handle and yellow candles on either side. Mrs Victor Rietmann and Mrs Walter Roberts poured and Mrs Bill Rietmann and Mrs Roy Rohde presided at the punch bowl. Mrs Harlan Crawford and Mrs Robert Rietmann assisted with the gifts. The hostesses were Mrs G Her mann, Mrs Verner Troedson, Mrs Cleo Drake, Mrs E W Bristow, Mrs Franklin Lindstrom and Mrs L A McCabe. Arleta McCabe and Cheryle Lundell assisted about the room.
