The Court reappointed Charles Carlson of lone, Oregon to the Fair Board for a period of 3 years. The Court appointed Dick Wil kinson of Heppner, Oregon as a member of the Morrow County Land Re-classification Committee to succeed Frank Wilkinson, de ceased. Richardson, Grand Na tional Champion of Homestead, Oklahoma, America's Crpchet Champions, selected by a panel ot leading needle work authorities, were honored recently at presentation ceremonies In the Waldorf-Astoria, New York, climaxing the 16th annual Nation wide Crochet Contest sponsored by the National Needlecraft Bureau. Almost 100,000 pieces of crochet were entered in the Contest through 809 State and County Fairs throughout the country during the past year. Geographically, the 368 national winners in the Contest represent a good cross section of the country. ... 39 states had one or more winners, with California taking top honors with a total of 54. Iowa was second with 37 and Ohio third with 25. Idaho, Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska and Washington were next with 15 winners each. Illinois, Oklahoma and Oregon followed with 14, 13 and 11 respectively. Each Champion received a free, all-expense paid trip to New York for two, plus substantial cash awards. In addition, Mrs. Richardson won an 8-day cruise to Bermuda for two as Grand National Champion, end a special cash award as First Prize Winner in the Original Design group. Her winning entry was a beautiful centerpiece. Miss Lally won her title with a group of crocheted dolls and Mr. Pryor's championship piece was a handsome crocheted bedspreo-l.
